MSFS - How to set up the Free Modelmatching System for Vatsim

Hello Just a reminder that this tutorial is only for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and not for other simulators. You can get model matching for other simulators but I suggest joining the discord and we will run you through step by step if you would like it for the other simulators

OK, so if it is going unresponsive then that's OK because it does that but if no VMR file generated it could be because a new version of model matchmaking magic has been released so Could have overwritten it

I’m good until I open the pilot and hit reload model matching rules. Nothing happens at that point. It looks like the window should populate with all of the aircraft but I get nothing. Any ideas?

Right. So, not seen this problem before but... Make sure your at a busy airport and I recommend you connect to vatsim and see If any aircraft are modelmatched and if not then reload the model matching rules. Hopefully that will work

@@pillow-pilot Got it. I guess I needed to be at an airport in MSFS and connected to V pilot. I didn’t realize that I had to have MSFS up and running to see the modeled planes. Thank you for your help.

Huh. Not seen that before sadly I cant help I havnt seen that before but I guess you will have to update everything in Windows or get rid of model matching then

It relatively works, however i still see a couple Asobo A320 Neos and when i put .aircraft the matching rule says Auto Generated

I'm glad it mostly works. The few out of place will be because you don't have the liveries in you community folder because this system relies on having liveries and the Ivao CSL and sometimes no-one knows what airline they are so it just guesses

When your fully ready to connect to vatsim click connect on Vpilot and the Boxes for those options appear. If you can't see it check out my tutorial on it for some help

Great video! I have a small problem however, the models all work and are visible in the sim, however! Non of the matched aircraft have lights (nav,landing etc) so they are hard to see at night! Is there a fix? Any help is great!

Sadly there is no fix that I know of currentlt for that. The models were designed to be low quality to save processing power and they didn't include lights because of that. Sorry

Mmm OK no worries so, whwne you click it the VMR file should appear. Make sure you give the program a while as it will crash and lag out but then fixes itself

Does this also work in-game when not flying on Vatsim? I mean, does it replace the generic plane models from on-line airtraffic and other players?

The tutorial is great, it's just that there is no ivao_x-scl folder in my community folder. There is only a folder named "IVAO". Help needed.

I can just use the xcls folder from Ivao and put in my community or I need also all the livery from the megapack?

By having both you get a better modelmatching because it has more to choose from.

You ought not need to do that with Vpilots new update so... Put it somewhere easy to acess and continue on without that step.

ok, did you download the latest altitude voice for MSFS. If so then it should be there so keep looking. Sometimes if the download of Altitude is disrupted then you do have to start again, so re-install it and hopefully it'll be there

@@pillow-pilot Same here. After generating the VMr file it does not show up anywhere. Can you look into this please? Edit: nevermind I found it :) One thing though, it seems like your ai traffic list is a lot different than mine. I don't have any A320neo.

@@bravocharlie24 The System relies on you having liveries for the Simulator too which in working with the IVAO stuff gives a full modelmatching. So... To have the A320 modelmatched you need to download liveries too👍

If you download the IVAO Model matching then you shouldn't have to download Liveries however th e more liveries you have the greater variety and accuracy of the model matching

@@christianmacdonald7468 OK.... So make sure you ticked include IVAO Models and download lots of liveries from Flight sim. To or Clinks Liveries Mega Pack and then you should see them the downloaded liveries need to be in the Community Folder
