There dont appear to be a lot of options regards effects as there is in Sim Shaker. Appears also one generic profile. None seperate for props,jets,helo etc. How is this better?

If anyone is lost on how to find the actual software, there is a drop down on the hapticonnect software and you need to select the "flight" version, which is $30. It took me forever to find how to actually buy it. I just tried it with helis, props and jets and it's fantastic out of the box no futzing. Very nuanced too, g forces not overpowering stuff, ground bumps are great etc.

How does it compare to simshaker for aviators?

After using it for a while I'm backto SSA+SSM without hesitation. Hapticonnect doesn't distinguish helicopters from jets from gliders etc (that'sa no go for me right here)... Flaps and gear sound seem identical, overall there a very few options. I'd say if you get it for free as part of your buttkicker purchase then great. Also, it's simpler to install than SSA+SSM. On the other hand if you're looking to get the most of your buttkicker at the moment I personally suggest SSA+SSM. Let's see how hapticonnect evolves.

I think it's a bit of a disgrace that this software is not free. I paid a lot of money for a Buttkicker 2 years ago and have had to rely on SimHub's brilliant software for support in my racing sims. Unfortunately SimHub Shakers has no support for MSFS2020 maybe because of lack of cooperation from Microsoft. I purchased OPUS to get MSFS tactile support because Buttkicker had none and now they want US$30 for support for MSFS 2020. Obviously because of the large market they will make a lot more money for software to support their hardware. Most other hardware suppliers (for example NLR motion platforms) supply support software for their hardware free.

Agreed! I’m very very impressed, especially given how new the MSFS support is. It absolutely nails rolling on pavement and the RPM of the engine for piston airplanes. Totally transforms the flight sim experience.

Thanks for this. I’ve been using the relative kludge of SSA+SSM and that errors out for me consistently. Came to KZbin looking for a solution and found Hapticonnect. It’s GREAT! I find it’s sounds are better and the single program is nice. Plus it was free since I had already registered. Looking forward to XPlane and DCS support!

I had to register my Plus first and in doing so, it gave me the option of downloading the software free. I picked the Flight version (rather than Track) It’s now installed and in my opinion, it’s way more accurate and realistic than Sim Shaker for Aviators. I did crank most levels to 90/100. And increased the volume on my amp to 26. Love it. Thanks!!

This is good news since Simshaker for Aviators is full of bugs when used for MSFS, or SimConnect have bugs. Touchdown sound going in the loop when entering the menu, or played 3 or 4 times after touchdown.

Tuning tip. Turn off all effects and tune them in one at a time. Once finished turn them all back on.

Sadly I purchased this software on the back of the recommendation in this video. I tried it on my motion-seat based VR sim which has a buttkicker attached. I think it is dreadful software! For a start it is very expensive for what it is. I was plagued with a component of the software that pops up from time to time and asks if it can change pc settings! The actual effects are wholly unconvincing and added nothing to my set-up. Indeed I got much more convincing motion and vibrations prior to installation. I found the software so bad that I have uninstalled it! I appreciate that the software might have some value in a static sim but it certainly adds noting to my motion sim.

At first, I thought the app wasn't working! At least on the few planes I've tried, the RPM feel is almost nothing. and flaps down has more 'feel'. So, whoever 'hand-tuned' it may not know what they're doing, or, more likely, my build (dated 11/23) is slightly buggy. Will experiment to get the best settings, but right now, I'm thinking my old sim shaker for aviators might be my best fix. [edit: There are some settings which put out no haptics until turned off and on again. I'm sure that with time, this app will work much better, but for now, for me at least, it's a little buggy. I'm sure that some won't have any issue - could have something with hardware or simconnect version or even windows build]

Yes, I found that by accident. I’ve just started with it and am yet to sort the sound to my G2 headset part. It should be east but as I still use Simshaker Wings with a Voicemeeter for IL-2 it isn’t that simple so I need to sort that part out. I’ll get there and Hapticonnect shows real promise but needs some refinement.

@@Snowy57 have you figured out what the problem is yet? I also am using a voice meeter/simshaker setup and am receiving almost no haptic signal at all except from the test button. I've been emailing Buttkicker and so far haven't come up with a solution. To date I've only tried it with GA aircraft.

@@47guitartom sorry for the late reply. After a recent MSFS update my Hapticonnect has been rendered unusable. I get CTD as soon as I start to load a flight. The one time I did get into my PA28 the basic flight controls were over exaggerated making it unflyable. I have contacted Buttkicker support and at this time they are not aware of any MSFS related issues. They do have an update relating to other driving games so that may help. I will give it a go. Before the recent MSFS update it was working quite well. It is disappointing but MSFS seems to break things at every second update. Time will tell if this promising Buttkicker add-on becomes stable and usable. I’m putting MSFS aside for a few weeks.

Chris, I purchased this software and you should be aware that it does not work with the Fenix A320 or PMDG 737. This means that I will still need to use 'the other' software" for 3rd party airlines which is disappointing. The GA aircraft work fine including 3rd party.

Question for you -- the adjustment panel you show seem really fixed wing centric. Runway texture, flaps, gear turbulence, etc. But you flew around in a chopper. As my name implies I'm pretty chopper centric and my question is -- how does this device rate in terms of adding immersion for choppers? I recently experienced a Class D chopper simulator (one of those gigantic professional full motion rigs) and I felt rotor vibration, scraping a skid on takeoff (REALLY felt that), and a pretty strong hit when finally touching down. I'm curious if these sensations are covered with this device as I'm fairly convinced at this point the general motion aspect of simulation is not that important for choppers (outside of doing radical maneuvers like auto rotations etc).

On the software page it doesn't state it's compatible with FS 2020 or other flight simulators... there is no plug-in for FS 2020 in the plugins page as well... what version is needed to make it work with flight sims? Is it compatible with DCS as well?

@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS thanks, using both flight sims and driving sims the Ultimate option would be mandatory, but it's very expensive. It's a sin there is no demo to test it out. I already paid for both SimShaker Wheels and Aviators. Being able to test it to understand if it's worth an upgrade would be useful 😅

I've been trying to make this work properly with no success so far. Extremely frustrated. No matter what I do, it always uses the in game sound instead of telemetry, both split and game mode. The costumer support is non existent, so I feel like I just wasted my 30 bucks. And yes, I'm using a sound card.

Hi Pie. Thank u for the video. I bought i immediately after I saw this but I am unsure how to setup this up correctly. I am using the y connector from my soundcard and i use the hapticonnect to port the sound thru digital out which has better audio than the analog where the BKckr is connected. If i go to game mode then I dont head msfs and I dont get the vibrations. I am on msfs profile. Thanks.

Not getting any ground bumps or landing effect, the RPM effect is binary and only works for chopper when changing the collective, but is otherwise mute. Seem very cheap and buggy so far and way worse than the basic audio channel LFE.

Update.. I received a super quick and helpful email from Andrew Luden Head of Gaming in relation to the problem I have been having with the Fenix A320 and PMDG 737. Quote "We’re investigating this as we’re built to work with any and all aircraft in MSFS, both first and third party. But the truth is that I simply cannot fly anymore without the buttkicker.
