I was a serious simmer once. Some 20 years ago I even made my own cockpit addons. But I switched to a Mac and never regretted it, abandoning FS in the process. Now I have bought a series S and rediscovered FS using just the standard controller. It takes time and careful use of sensitivity settings and button re-mapping. But it works well. No more hassle with fps, no hardware issues, just flying. Call me a gamer instead of a simmer now. But for a fraction of the cost there is a whole world to explore. And still I can do IFR, airliners, atc and much more if I want. For me it is a no-brainer.

I fly only in VR pity the xbox does not use this wonderful addon.

Totally agree... I used to have a whole cockpit setup....took up a ton of space, money, and tweaking. But then, I switched to Mac and like you, can't go back to PC. FS on the xbox has thankfully brought me back to Simming and I am grateful for that.

@@daneav8 Nice to read you had similar experiences. I wrote this one year ago. Got a TB Velocity One in december and flying is much more realistic without the controller. Mounted the yoke on a side table, as a couch simmer that is ideal. For FS I take the table, plug in the yoke and it is ready to go. When watching TV the table goes in a corner of the room. The VF1 is expensive but totally worth it!

Great video per usual. I bought a Xbox series S, then traded in for a series X, quickly outgrew that and just ordered a PC. I am very new to this hobby but love it so. I don't have the patience to wait for Xbox to come up to speed plus I sincerely doubt Xbox will ever have Vatsim or something similar.

VR support as well; that’s a game changer

Play both PC and Xbox - I find the Xbox series S version the best for a relaxed spins around. The PC version for me on gtx1080 a lot more sluggish but has far superior choice for add ons, always tweaking to get going which can be a pain. The series S smooth as silk for me - the sense of speed far better for faster aircraft. Have just got hold of a series X so hopefully some more goodness to come. Bonus as well on the Xbox is getting on the bigger TV screen.

The Xbox series X is 4k and honestly it’s better then a lot of computers.

I think if you want complete simulation, online ATC, a massive range of addons, study level aircraft (at the moment only on PC). Then PC for sure. If you want to try out flight simulation and get a sort of first hand experience then Xbox is good enough, especially if flight simming is not a thing you do that much.

I have 3k pc just for iracing. Bought the series x for flight sim and its no brainer. So much fun and alot of realistic flying for under 1k. I'll take it

Blue screen of death on a windows PC is also what stopped my flight sim obsession

If you play on Xbox then switch to PC, will your adding that you bought stay on the account or will you have to buy them again?

XBOX is probably more arcade oriented, rather than simulating real flight procedures

I’m just going to go ahead and say PC is the winner because I’m biased and already built a $3k pc back in 2019. I swore off consoles to join the PCMR
