Good Info! Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it, but for anyone interested in purchasing one of the MSFS 2020 versions (vs using GamePass), make sure you purchase on the XBOX (MS) Store instead of using Steam. This way, you'll get the Play Anywhere License. In other words, with the single purchase you'll be able to play on your PC and/or Xbox Series X/S. If you purchase thru Steam, you'll only get access to the game on the system you bought it for. Hope that makes sense. Cheers.

I got all your recommendations I got the flight stick and also I got the pedals the one you got and I'm pretty happy with it I'm so happy with the advice she gave us all and I am rocking it for my flight simulator I'm running at 2K but at 120 and it does go down to 60 frames but it is amazing that usually stays up around 100 frames to 120 frames at 2K cuz I do have HDMI 2.0

I'm assuming that's on the Series X? Pushing 120 frames on that is really quite incredible.

It's using VRR on XBOX your not really getting 120fps it simply makes your tv/monitor refresh faster which feels more fluid giving you the illusion of having super high FPS. I ordered my Xbox Series X from Game in the UK six weeks ago & picked it up today, which i thought was pretty quick. MFS2020 looks amazing on my 4k tv. I mainly got it for helicopters, which unfortunately are still 6 months away on the Xbox platform

Good informative video thanks. Feel sure it will give the newcomers a good insight. Myself, I prefer the Xbox series x for the excellent scenic graphics and a relaxed flight from the sofa. For any serious IFR or night flying I use an old laptop, a tablet with the Touch Portal app, (which works like a dream), and a small monitor to display the map and ATC on. As for the HOTAS one I've dumped it back in the box in disgust and now seem to prefer the Xbox controller. In conclusion I much prefer the laptop and wish I'd upgraded to a decent PC rather than buying the Xbox.

MSFS will mature on the Series X/S over time; with a few new controllers, it'll be almost akin to using a PC.

Totally agree with you. New played of the sim probably will be overwhelmed with the pc version and all of the configuration options. Xbox is great entry level for new people to start flying sim experience for the first time, and on a budget too.

Yes the Xbox version is great for those very new to Flights sims.

I feel like it depends on what you really want. do you want stock, so you want to mod, do you want to add a lot of add on that are not on console? really depends on how you plan using the sim.

I may be exaggerating but still direct 12 is going to make it a lot better for serious x overall can't wait to see how much better but I'm pretty sure of it for sure

Hudson, do you believe the mods - like Working Title's Longitude and CJ4 avionics improvements - will eventually be available on xbox? I wold gladly pay for these. What about the Replay feature? Except for the current limited Marketplace and lack of Replay mode - I love my Series X for flying (and I even love just using the gamepad)

SU10 will apparently allow more complex aircraft to become available for the Xbox version, which is great news.

I’m on the xbox s at the moment, yes you are correct the cheapest way to FS today, thinking about an new APU PC, or second hand GPU with normal CPU combo. Think it’s about time I updated my Mac mini 2011, windows is the only thing I hate, shame you can’t easily run it on a ubuntu machine. That’s another good thing about xbox, PLUG & PLAY that’s it. Could you do some lessons on some of the aircrafts in FS, especially the one’s with propeller, throttle and mixture. These are a bit thin on the ground on YT.

Absolutely thrilled with the small but mighty Series S. $249 open box at BestBuy. I can't believe it runs so nicely. Obviously a high end PC or the X will win, but the S wows me plenty.

Was wondering if I can modify planes in the Xbox Version for example there are private folks or perhaps call it third party have mods to make flight dynamics better like there are a few mods for the TBM 930.

I’ve just downloaded FS2020 onto my new Xbox series X. I’ve not yet updated to the UK points of interest. As it’s a lot more detailed how well does it perform on Xbox, is there any loss of FPS?

It's flyable with the Xbox controller, but I fully recommend getting the Hotas One at least, if you find that you are invested in MSFS.

CTDs still occur (not just in MSFS).

Series ass and Sirius x are getting a big update very soon when direct 12 comes out you're going to see a Major performance overall all games for sure 150% sure of that and by that time you guys should get also the PC better version hopefully and we'll just keep on getting better and better

For MSFS, the PC is King. The X-Box is a console/toy. Perhaps a nice bit of kit if you're a gamer.

I have a midrange pc, i deleted windows and run Linux only, i can played strategy games on Steam on my Linux and i have the X version of the Xbox vere i played this flight sim and other games, i would never spend tons of money on a high end pc today, the graphic cards is so expensive now days.

Well here we are over a year later. So what has changed, as I see it it really remains Cost. I have a i9 rtx 3090 pc with 16 meg of ram which runs the program in ultra no problems. I also have the xbox x which runs very well. So what are the differences today still it is cost, I have several options to use different add ons to the xbox, I still use the hotas thrustmaster system, on the pc I have several such as the honeycomb setup which is in the cupboard and I use the Airbus setup on the pc. So where am I going with this nearly 100% I use the xbox its quick to load and does not stress the system. I am convinced that if you are starting out buy an xbox they are available now. Msfs 2024 may change this dramatically watch this space till then xbox come on down.

You've missed one important part, mind you a year ago it wasn't as important.................. the wattage and cost to run between the xbox and the PC......................... the xbox is considerably cheaper to run being lower wattage than the mid to high range PC. This old git is trying to save every penny on my electric bill.
