The benefits of you doing these videos over other channels is that you're actually on Xbox whereas the other KZbinrs are always on PC. And I've found that incompatibilities arise when doing things between the different versions of the sim (i.e. sim brief, various add-ons, etc.). You showing it on Xbox eliminates those factors and makes it easier to follow along. That's why I like your channel the most.

My first flight in a DC-3 was from Anchorage to Dawson City and back in Summer of 1960 (less than 1 yr after Alaska became our 49th state). This video really brings back memories! Can't wait to fly it!

Glad to see you back and doing well. Although I prefer the PC over the Xbox, I like watching your videos. I love this plane. I'm surprised how well you took off and landed on your first go around. I crashed multiple times. I found upon take-off, it's best to lower your pitch to gain speed because once you stall, you can't recover. One big advantage of the PC is the mods and Imenes of FlyByWire has made a mod for this and updates it weekly. He's has moded the superchargers to work now which increases speed and power once you reach higher altitudes. Despite the improvements, this plane produces a lot of drag when the gear is dropped upon landing. When in ILS approach, it will unlock and start coming down. Manual control is needed. Despite all this, its so fun to fly!

Nice review of DC3, love this plane, and your informative hints at how to fly the DC3. Would love to see a livery in Buffalo airways, as loved watching all the Ice Pilots series. Would really appreciate seeing more of these older planes coming into MSFS2020 which require more skill and precision to successfully fly them.

The DC-3 is an awesome aircraft but like all tail draggers, prefers a shallow approach so as to slide on to the runway. Your approach was a little steep but as you say, a very good landing for the first time. I'm sure it will be the first of many.

You have to type your flight plan in on the fmc. It won’t follow the in game plan. If you have a laptop or a tablet may work too I think, you can use sim brief by Navigraph for free and it’ll tell you your fuel and waypoints along with up to date weather, speeds, and altitudes for each waypoint. Just make sure to switch it to LBs if you use that unit because it will use KGs by default.

@@grizzlytanner6794 yes it can be tricky at times. I had nothing to do a few days ago and dedicated 6 or so hours to learn all of the systems. There are some great tutorials for it. Once you get the basics it becomes pretty simple.

Question for anyone who really flies the A310. I have been having issues with the throttles on it as they go into reverse thrust when I have 50% throttle on my velocity one. I tried to calibrate it on the iPad that’s inside the cockpit of the A310 with no luck. Any suggestions on a solution?

Very hard to fly. Often take off and tips and crashes. Also gets battered by turbulence and wind. Don’t find it’s a steady plane

@@Pilot0083 sure does take time. Found have to let it lift off itself. Trouble so far, can land it, but lining up on runway is very hard. Always seem to come in on an angle, very hard to line up
