Hi Pilots lets take a look at this great plane! The DHC-4 Caribou released as local legend VIII with the New Zealand World Update! A beautiful plane and in my opinion the best one we have got with a world update . Some info: The Caribou was conceptually based on the STOL performance of the smaller de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver and DHC-3 Otter, but with greater cargo capacity. 32 countries’ militaries flew the Caribou, including Spain, the US, India and Australia. the aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney R-2000 Twin Wasp 14-cylinder radial piston engines that each deliver 1,450 horsepower and turn a 3-blade Hamilton Standard constant-speed, reversible-pitch propeller.

I think what happened with your GPS is that earlier you may have forgotten to turn on the generators. At @24:40 you can see part of the avionic systems turn off and all the engine gauges dropped to 0. The generator switches are located towards the center of the cockpit and have red covers over the switches. Right under the card with the take off speed and flap suggestions.

@@Pilot0083 Hi, Was waiting for this to happen right from the start of the video... I did exactly the same as you, followed the checklist. The checklist makes no mention of the generators. You can run electrical systems for a few minutes on batteries, but once they have gone, all electrical systems die. For me I took so long exploring the aircraft on the ground that it happened before I even started taxiing - I suspected immediately what it was, but then it took me a few minutes to find those red switch covers with the gen switches underneath...

Hi Pilot, did you already found a way to use the reverse thrust function with the velocity one joke ? When I go into the detent area on the yoke it moves the throttle levers all the way back and I got an increase of rpm but no backwards moving. Maybe you have an idea. All the best!

This is gonna end up being an expensive month. This looks awesome. I’m not gonna not buy this now, then there’s the ATR 72, and the AN 225, and from what i’ve seen of those i’m gonna have to throw money at them too.
