Hi guys Pilot 83 here bringing you a simple little tutorial to get you on your way navigating the beautiful DHC-4 Caribou. In this video we will go overt the basics of using VOR to navigate the skies. I will try to make this easy to understand but I recommend all learn this if you don't have any knowledge of VOR because its quite fun to use and very hands on! Good for navigating theses older planes. Lets get to it!

you might want to double check and make sure your data settings are on. That looks like offline scenery you're seeing. Sometimes an update turns that off for whatever reason

Thank you so much for your tutorial. As someone not used to VOR only, you made it very understandable. I do have a question regarding the NAV switches on the panel… There is an ILS 1/2 and NAV/GPS and over to the right a bit another Nav/GPS and Slave. For your video how did you have those buttons set up? Thanks again for a great video and a new subscriber.

I have finally got MSFS2020 back up running since lat weeks update, after a conflict with a previous installed addon crashed the entire program on XBox Series X. I eventually traced the problem to be caused by Carenado’s PC12 addon which identical to November 2022 update the V35B Bonanza by Microsoft/ Carenado also caused an identical problem in that update.

@@Pilot0083 This is strange that you are able to have both these planes in FS2020 as after the last two updates they crashed FS2020 and I had to uninstall everything and re install. When I installed addons I could download each of these planes and as soon as the files began to decompress and begin to install this totally crashed FS2020 and then wouldn’t run until I had uninstalled FS2020 and re installed it.

How do i turn on auto pilot

The DHC-4 doesn't have one in the sim. Whether one ever could have been fitted, is likely, but it's what we've got in MSFS. It's worth noting that the DHC-2 Beaver *does* have an autopilot. It's not an uncommon retrofit in older GA aircraft.
