Excellent presentation. Touch capabilities definitely make things more realistic. Do you happen to know if the G1000 perspective plus, (NXI), could be popped out to a touch screen monitor?

Great video. Not sure my sim is ready for touch screens yet, but someday. It can be tough to get into KLGB from Chino without a flight following though, you can go south and it is a nice view. CNO-HAVUR-Disneyland-Oil Platforms-VPLQM-KLGB I fly SOCAL teaching formation. Good to see another Pilot Edge member as well.

That's awesome! I'm on the east coast and have never flown in SOCAL in real life. I figure PilotEdge is perfect cuz if I can fly in SOCAL having never had a formal training "local area orientation" for that area, then I can fly just about anywhere. 😀

Yeah, with SU10, DX12, and DLSS I'm up to 30-35FPS. Since I built my PC for MSFS (Rtx3080, Ryzen 5900x, 32Gb), I figured I'd keep my hardware as is and wait for software optimizations to fix my fps.

It's the Sting S4. I fly in a club in real life that owns an RV-12, so the Sting S4 and the Bristell B23 are the closest I could get in the sim (low wing, glass panel, Rotax 912 engine, fixed gear). I went with the Sting over the Bristell because it seemed to offer more features and I thought the Rotax sounded more real to life vs the Bristell model. www.fsreborn.com/sting-s4-for-microsoft-flight-simulator

When I'm not flying our club RV or the Sim, I'm researching which Kitplane fits my cost, time, and payload budget! 😃 I think my choice right now would be the Zenith CH 750 Cruzer, and my dream plane (if budget and build time we're not an option) would be the Sling High Wing. In the meantime, I'll keep window shopping and enjoying our RV-12!

Hi Matt, I’m very interested in getting a couple of touch screens and doing the same thing you have done. I am planning to build a home built Zenith Cruiser (Real)with G3x system in it. I have the Zenith model in MSFS 2020 to practice using the Aircraft and the Instrument Panel. I think what you are doing will bring some realism to it. Could you either do a video on you touch screens, how they connect to you computer, and how they are operated? As well as the software you are using to make it work and where you found the software? Maybe even how you set it all up. If you don’t won’t to do a video could you contact me on Facebook so I could get help making a similar setup? Thanks

Hi Wil. I talk about the monitors and the software in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWOQdXeAmNWhaqs I include a parts list in the video so you'll be able to find the monitors I used. The monitors are USB-C for power and touch data, and HDMI for display. Depending how many monitors you already have, just be aware that most GPUs only allow 4 video outputs (even if it has 5 physical video ports, if you try running 5 monitors from 1 GPU it'll only provide video feed to 4. I used a USB to HDMI converter to run my 5th monitor. Under that configuration it requires my CPU to do the video processing for the 5th monitor. I'm running air manager for the monitors. The video I linked has more links to text tutorials which will help walk you through the process of getting things set up. I think those tutorials would be more helpful to you than me doing a video about it. I've also been eyeing a Zenith CruZer, but it'll be years before I can afford to dedicate the time and money to a kit. Maybe by that time the RV-15 will be available for purchase. 😀 (I ideally want more cruise speed, useful load, and a rear jump seat than what the CruZer offer. I was hoping maybe Zenith was designing a "Super CruZer", but I haven't heard anything from them on that. I think the RV-15 is my dream kit now.)
