Great tutorial Tony! I had just downloaded this when I saw your video and you saved me some time sorting things out. Hopefully XP12 will allow saving pop out positions by aircraft and save those locations/sizes even if they are closed for a future pop.

Excellent video Tony. I would like to be able to create the popouts using the Garmin Perspective plus and not the G1000. The G 1000 buttons are different than the PP. Do you happen to have any suggestions?
@ExperimentalSimAvionics2 жыл бұрын
What sim and what aircraft are you using that has the PP version of the G1000?
@josec47902 жыл бұрын
Both Xplane and MSFS 2020 Cirrus SR 22
@ExperimentalSimAvionics2 жыл бұрын
Ah yes but they are not true PP. They use the G1000 popouts from each of those sims so nothing different required in terms of overlays so not sure what exactly you are asking. Are you looking for the GCU keypad as an instrument?
@josec47902 жыл бұрын
I would like the bezel to reflect the perspective which the buttons are different
@ExperimentalSimAvionics2 жыл бұрын
Gotcha.. I incorporated option settings in my g1000 for the different G1000 variants that don’t have say the autopilot buttons or alt knob. I haven’t yet gone as far as the PP variant which removes most of the duplicate controls that are on the GCU. I do plan on getting to the SR22 at some point so I’ll need to incorporate these differences too. It’s just a case of not showing what is not selected in the settings but some graphics modding will likely be required as well.

The plugin is very good! A feature that would be very convenient and interesting, would be the possibility to connect with iPad tablets by the IP address of the local network and do a screen mirroring! Congratulations on the tool!

Hi, was wondering if you are going to do a video on the new version of the pap out manager? Also what panel did you pop out on the 414 and 310.and what bezels did you use?

Yes it’s on my list. What do you want to learn about the 414 and 310 specifically?

OK. Very good. I have been successful in following your instructions. It would be helpful if you made a shorter version (say 5minutes Max) that showed the actual process from start to finish with minimal dialogue. Viewers can pause the video and duplicate each step if they want to. One thing I found that I did not realise at first. That is the pop out process MUST be done in the default position that each plane opens in. My first try was done with my custom cockpit position..... but of course as soon as the Pop out manager tried to do its job, it was clicking in the wrong place. So I just reset the positions for that profile with the plane in its default opening position. Once the pop up process has finished you can use any of you custom camera positions and the pop outs stay where they were put. In my case, I have a triple screen dual seat cockpit with the front screen half hidden behind my realistic dashboard. When I configure my pop outs, I have to lift the dashboard cover to see where to click for selecting the pop out screens. Once that is done, I can just wait for the particular saved plane to open and let the pop out Manager finish its job. Then click my favourite custom camera position. I usually start my flights with SAVED flights where I have shut all plane systems down. This means that when I open a flight, I am sitting in a dead cockpit with nothing running. This allows me to turn on all switches etc. for a realistic feel to start up. However, I found I needed to save these flights with the Garmin power ON otherwise the pop out Manager tells me it cannot pop out. I thought the check box for power up was supposed to do that..... or should that be unchecked? Anyway.... I found that If the pop out fails, I can turn on my cockpit power and then click the “start pop out” button..... which does the job anyway without having to reload the plane. Cheers.

A couple of points. You can set POPM to use a custom view when it’s does it’s thing. This is configured in preferences. This is required in some aircraft when the default view does not show all the instruments to be popped out in one view. On the power thing the check box is only required to be ticked as it says for G1000 aircraft only. All other popouts to date don’t need to be powered. Just the G1000.

@@ExperimentalSimAvionics Great. Thanks. Now I have done a few I have figured it out. I made a high custom view with all the instruments showing and saved that custom view as Ctrl + Alt + 0. Then I made my main flying custom view Ctrl + Alt + 9. I entered these in the Pop Out Manager settings. So to set up the automatic pop out for each plane, I select the saved custom view Alt + 0 and ‘Start Panel Selection’ Once completed, the PopOut Manager selects the saved Alt + 0 custom view and when finished, returns to the saved Alt + 9 custom view. Even if you do not set it up to do it automatically, you can follow the same procedure manually.... ie select Alt +0 / start Pop Out / then select your desired custom view. Would be nice if there was a video demonstrating this - with screen shot of settings. Might do one myself eventually.

@ExperimentalSimAvionics2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not. We all suffer it. Luckily for me it does not affect my flight experience too much. I know on other setups it can cause a big problem.The particular issue is a MSFS thing and needs to be fixed by Asobo. Let’s hope SU10 brings the answer.

Hi Tony, I set up my system for XPlane 11 using another copy of the sim on my laptop with Air Manager also installed. and a 15.6” touch screen also connected. I have three 32” monitors connected to my PC successfully using XP’s multi-screen settings. PC and laptop are separately hard wired to the internet and both connected to XP11 using the XP master/slave settings. It is simple to move the G1000 popout s from the PC monitors to the laptop monitor. Whilst running MSFS on additional monitors settings, I cannot move the popouts from the PC monitor to the laptop monitor. How can I do the same as XP11 on MSFS, in other words how to connect both PC and laptop on MSFS or install another copy of AM?
@ExperimentalSimAvionics Жыл бұрын
MSFS does not support that natively. Most users just run AM on the same machine as the sim for MSFS. The only possible way I know to do something similar would be to use a streaming/Remote Desktop type app to get the sim display on another machine.

I know i'm missing something but i am trying to map the TBM 930 and the Cessna Longitude each havilng 3 monitors one below the main 2 panels. When i select the 3 panels and press start pop out the screen shifts to a view which only shows the 2 upper panels and the a message appears "unable to pop 1st panel because the sreen has repositioned to a differnt veiw. I have tried to follow the Cnt-alt-9 suggestion and set this to Number 9 view but it still reverts to main view missing the 3 views I needed. Can you make a video showing how yu kept the three views in place allowing it to start the pop out procedure.
@ExperimentalSimAvionics2 жыл бұрын
You need to ensure that the view you setup does actually work using the corresponding keyboard shortcut. Once that works every time set POPM to use this keyboard key combination. It will apply this before trying to pop out. I have the PFD, MFD and 2 GTC controllers popping out automatically for the TBM but as you found I did need to create the starting view so all 4 were in view.
@alanbeasy1775 Жыл бұрын
In other words, create a custom view where you can see all your screens to pop out. This should be saved as Ctrl + Alt + 0. (There is also a button on the latest Pop Out Manger called “Save auto Panning Camera” - that will save as custom view Alt + 0 whatever view you have when you click it.) Then save your flying custom view as Ctrl + Alt + 9 Make sure that is entered in the Pop Out Manager settings. After you have done the “start panel selection” and locked you panels where you want them, POM will then automatically select the Alt +0 view for popping out and return when finished to your Alt + 9 custom view.

Got it downloaded and installed. Got my panels popped out and then I set them in my AM panels just the way I wanted them. Tested them right away and when they went to the AM monitors they weren't set right. There was a gap at the bottom and right edges of both the PFD and the MFD. Also, when I tried to start from the World Map and go back in to a flight it didn't automatically load in. I'll keep messing with it since every plane I fly uses AM and with the HJet there's four pop outs to fuss with.
@1OldBuzzard2 жыл бұрын
In all of my hurrying, I forgot to thank you for posting this. Air Manager is awesome and this sure makes it easier as you well know the trouble MSFS gave us by not doing like XPlane in remembering where the popouts go.

Not a great application. It takes me about an hour to get everything set up on my CRJ and the software resets everything every time that I start a new flight… so I’m starting over every single flights Also the UI is very clunky, not very intuitive. Can anybody tell me how to program pop out panels without using some Jenkee software? 1:04
