After upgrading my PC to an RTX 4070 super, 64GB RAM, a new dedicated SSD drive for MS24, and a Crystal Lite, I am disappointed with the VR performance. I hope the community can help us all get this looking great. Thanks for your videos.

Yeah VR performance is not that great the other issue is we have no access to the developer mode to use the FPS tool but with the open XR toolkit it does give us some information and I did find that with the new 2024 it uses a lot of vram and that causes some major stutters so you will have to turn your texture resolution down to medium or high in the graphics settings so you don't tap out your vram now on a positive note I did find the dlss works much better in 2024 so you may actually have to turn that back to balanced I was using performance yesterday and the visuals were still really good and the gauges were very readable they were very clear

But I was only successful with one flight and that was just a traffic pattern so until we get more reliable service and have an FPS tool that we can use the tools to tune our systems it's going to be a little bit so we can test things

@@2020fsers Just swapped out the DLSS file for the new one, the test flight was much better. I wish I could get rid of the micro stutters (nano stutters) while moving my head from side to side across the instrument panel almost like a vibration makes the instruments unreadable I have to move my head only very slowly.

Are you using dlss try that if you're not I don't have those micro stutters in my crystal

Also you can try to turn down the texture resolution make sure you do it for PC and VR I would set it between medium and high and see if that helps

I got a huge performance boost by doing this, so thank you. The only down side is that with DLSS set to quality the glass cockpit and instruments become a little blurry, not unreadable but blurry.

Yes, I have this same issue with DLSS. All the instruments and labels become blurry unless I'm right up close to them.

@ I’m going to try to render the game on a higher resolution from Nvidia panel and see if that helps.

this has been like this throughout msfs, sad it hasn't been fixed here. TAA is the only way to avoid this,.

Huge difference maker. I’m now running a consistent 115 FPS. With my I-9. 4090. 64 gigs of ram. Most of my my settings are on ultra or high.

If you're on Windows 11 with the new update 24 H2 you will not be able to use the Reverb anymore if you're on Windows 10 you should be able to the openxr toolkit does work I did test that yesterday but being able to test things is spotty because of the network and server issues 1 tip though I found with the new 2024 is you need to turn down the texture resolution because it eats up a ton of vram you may want to try either medium or high texture resolution

@_flyby oh you're talking about the openxr application for Windows mixed reality that I do not have I thought you were talking about the openXR tool kit that you use control F2 to open in the simulator

@@2020fsers I am talking about the openXR tool kit. I can´t open it with F2. If I open the app only FS2020 is recognized. I think it should have MS 2024 recognized for the app to work, and I do not know how to do it.

@_flyby I didn't need to open the companion application at all once I got in a VR I just hit control F2 and it popped right up that's the only tuning tool that I can use right now without Dev support.

Updated the DLL file last night. Having a significantly slower load in this morning. That could also be on the sim side I’m assuming.

Yeah now that everything is server-based we all know how the servers have been in 2020 now we're at the mercy of their servers just to load in to the sim . I have to wait 10 minutes on the tarmac before all of my textures load in the aircraft I can't even read buttons or anything there's no text I've got to wait

Yes yes. Am I honest opinion I think it's going to take them longer than everyone thinks to get this working properly we don't even have a working SDK and a developer mode so that we can tune the simulator

The program will not highlight the new DLSS for me to allow me to swap it, last time for MSFS 2020 I had to do it manually. Never mind, I imported the file to a folder in my Desktop and extracted it to prepare to do it manually and thought I'd try thge swapper out one last time and managed to swap them. Thank you.

The whole experience is underwhelming. Following tips about using VPN and choosing the US servers in Settings and having a 720 MBPS download connection, I was only able to follow the taxi and take-off training. Nothing else works, even five days after the launch. I guess we'll have to wait for these issues to be resolved.

I have issues too I've been trying to test the simulator to make some setting guides but I get 5 or 10 minutes in and then I get a crash every time

Does this diss file swap related improvement only do anything if you have dlss selected for your anti aliasing method? In other words, if I’m using TAA should I ignore this?

I would still update it even if you're using TAA in Microsoft 2020 it did see an improvement in TAA for 2024 things are completely different

What I would do is uninstall the dlss swapper then go to the install exe file that you downloaded for the swapper and right click on it and run the installer as administrator then once it installs try it again if it's still not there then run the application as administrator at that point

This is the dll file that dlss runs on it's not the same as turning on dlss in the game. You can only make the changes with the swapper tool while the same is not running after you make your changes then you can load up the SIM

Working on that so far my nvidia settings from 2020 are working well in 2024 . I'm working on a setting guide for the simulator because a lot of settings in there don't correlate to 2020 and they don't correlate to the impact as 2020 so I'll be doing that soon

I got the aviator LCD, but 2 hours later I'd ask for a refund, which it went through, , you can get the same look by getting the standard, and take your flute with you, simple as that
