I am not drinking the Nordstrom Koolaide. I still love watching you, Marnie. I see this as such a marketing tool, and I don't want to be a part of that tool. I bought nothing from the Nordstrom sale last year, and my life was still good. They want to make it seem like we can't function without that sale. What I see is a sale that tells me what I should want, but what I would never want.

Well of course you will still function!! But I do really love their brands, and I would buy them anyway so I prefer to buy them at 40% off! I find what i want, and that’s only what I’m going to recommend, not what’s “hot” or trendy at the moment. And over the years I’ve found I buy most of my clothes during this Sale and then just fill in little bits here and there.

I have to say I agree with you in the way they laid out their catalog this year. Their styling is horrific. I flipped through it and threw it in the trash. Nordstrom needs to go back to the way they used to do their catalogs. Classic with tons of product on a page.

Yeah I was underwhelmed. The only thing that is a must have if that are the Charlotte tilbury kits. The shearling jacket is nothing new. I have that a couple of years now from Zara. Checked prints are still here. Hope they do away with the mule slides, blocked heeled weird looking 👠.

And, totally agree the white boots look too silly/quirky for me and the boule fabric does look so bulky, they often are not flattering.

I bought a pair of blondo waterproof ankle booties in the sale last year. BEST PURCHASE EVER!!!! I love them, they're comfortable, keep your feet bone dry in the rain but look like regular boots.

I love your picks, Marnie. I have the same thoughts on white boots. I just can't get into them. As far as bulky coats, I will wear bulky as long as the coat is warm. So many these days have very little wool, and a whole lot of polyester in the fabric, or they are so lightweight that they qualify as a blazer. I'm all over heavy, bulky & warm. ;-) Thank you for sharing your picks. I'm very happy to learn a lot more merchandise will be included in the sale. My reaction to the catalog was a big yawn. ;-)

Marnie do you have viewing access to everything Nordstrom is putting in the sale? In the past there has always been Burberry items in the print catalogue. There isn't a single piece from the designer collections. The same holds true for the men's section. I usually do all of my high end shopping during this sale and there is nothing being offered. I'm currently working at Nordstrom. The catalogue is something you have to opt into through credit card customer service. If it's your first year you should call for future mailings it isn't automatic. Happy anniversary!

I’ve never seen a barefoot dreams cardigan in person, is this for in house only or is it ok for casual out of the house wear. I live in a small college town where life is very casual. Excited for the Zella leggings, haven’t tried them before but have heard all the rave reviews. I’m also looking for a longchamp le pliage tote, do you know if this will be included in the sale? I still have and wear everything unless I ruined it in the laundry (it happens). That would be a REALLY long video since it’s the majority of my wardrobe! My only regret is the saddle bag. It’s a beautiful bag, and for most people I think they’d love it, but I like a bigger bag that can give me quick access to my vlogging camera. The shape of that one didn’t lend itself to putting as much inside as I’d like. I’m still glad I bought that one instead of the Chloe version that I had really wanted! $200+ vs. $2000+ saved me a lot of money! 😉
