MSI 2080 TI Seahawk EK X Install and Bench

Hi Everyone,
My apologies for the long update on this card. I ran into issue after issue with this card after installing it. I had a couple benchmark done and then the card just fail over and over on me.

Will it fit with side panel on? This card seems rdiculasly ridiculously tall, I'm afraid it won't fit into most cases unless vertical mounted.

Hi, try 3 direct cables, Got the same issue with my old 1080ti SLI the problem was not enouth direct power... Hope it helps...

Bro after reading this I did it to mine, no more rgb flickering under full load. I also decided to rerun msi afterburner and I got it to perform even better. Thanks man!

I have one of the best power supplies out there (Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold), but I had to return it to the store because I kept getting that error.

Never been a fan of MSI, and this reinforces that. But I want a prebuilt GPU for my first custom water cooled system build, so will have to look around or watercool the block myself

Lilboots I think I just got unlucky with this card. I’ve had msi graphic card in the past and I never had any issue with it.

@@TheNoviceTech I can not subscribe now because too many interests. But like. I want try NVLink instead SLI. But do not sure or did not see systems when 2 or 1 video card works. I have seen liquid flow from one to second card. But dislike such approach.

Did you overclock the card? How were the temps before it died?

I couldn’t overclock the card. But when I test it on mark 3d and superposition the 2080 ti ran 57c under the test and the 1080 ti ran at 45c. The new 2080 ti does run a bit hotter under load.

The Novice Tech that’s still to high for it being liquid cooled. My Evga ultra ftw3 2080ti overclocked never went above 59 full load. That card under water shouldn’t of been more than 50 degrees. A lot of people are having issues with this particular card. MSI is refusing to acknowledge issues

I would take the card apart and recheck the thermal paste. Every card I have owned usually have a crappy dab of thermal paste from the factory. Get some good Arctic paste on it, see you should drop 6 Celsius.

@@nodoubt1616 And how loud was your card? And what is "liquid cooled"? My MSI Seahawk X EK 2080 Ti wont go above 50c, and my fans dont ramp up till 55c. Plus my D5 pump is only on 2. But I am sure on my old loop it would be at least 20c hotter. That might be a good temp for his loop, how the hell do you know? You dont. For me this card is impressive, has worked flawlessly while scoring 1000 more points that Novice Tech did in time spy.

Chester Guerrero No haven’t had that issue at all. I maybe your psu not having enough power when it’s full load. I’m running a seasonic 1000w titanium.

YouTuga I tried literally everything. But check my new lian li build It has the same 2080ti. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYSUapV7ocpmfac I wanted the card to work right so I waited 5 month to repurchase it again for this build. Now it works flawlessly.

I never get to enjoy the backplate on this card, my core p3 is running it vertically, sorry about your memory modules failing, I got mine recently so I think I escaped it, it was happening to micron and samsung modules so both, I have micron and it's working great but samsung definitely is way better, you can literally cap mem overclock on samsung modules, at least on my boys hydrocopper at least

Nathan Brown if you watch the entire video. I did said I check everything. I tried it all. Trust me I love msi card but this one is bad. You should know that already. That some of these cards are known to be defective.

That’s how I felt when it was a dud. But my new Lian li build have this same gpu and it rocks. Absolute beast. Just had to wait about 6 month for all the bad card to go lol
