Maybe vapor chamber on next gen would be an upgrade for better cooling. Agree with your conclusion, to bad they use old chassis on this GE75, Low Ram, no Gsync for the price tag and still no Optimus switch. The good thing is you can still Bios Tweak for UV. The best design on laptop in my opinion is the unibody on razer's laptop but hate their software synapse

I have a MSI and a Razer; use the MSI under heavy gaming load daily and it still holds up extremely strong after 4 yrs of use; the Razer, supposedly higher quality (because the case is more rigid) is only used for my work and light MS Office,but cost $1000 more; and its already a piece of garbage after 2 years. MSI all the way.

Can you help me? I preorderd this laptop a month ago. Thank you for the review. Though you sound kind of dissapointed with this laptop. I have 2 questions. 1: How warm does the keyboard feel to your hands? My last gaming laptop it got extremely warm that it made my hands sweat and I hated it. What gaming laptop that you reviewed had the best keyboard temps? 2: Cant you disable Optimus though Nvidias control center? I think Nvidia gives you the option to prioritize the GPU. Overall now I feel a bit worried about my purchase. I researched for days, comparing laptops, hardware and prices. And this one seemed to be the best of the best for the hardware thats inside it. Thanks for the info on the 2666hz ram speed... You're the only person I've heard mention it and am still trying to get all the info I can on max ram upgrades. I went ahead and picked the laptop up anyway as I'm sure I can cram more ram in it that I'll notice(the 32gig I am getting with mine is a huge upgrade from the 16 I'm used to, which are still more than I've been used to for... Forever. XD I plan to use it for flatscreen ve gaming, as well as VR modded flatscreen gaming and regular ve gaming... I'm hoping it can drive the quest2 120hz screens with reasonable gfz settings(again, I'm accustomed to 40hz fps at rather low to mid settings on integrated Ryzen 7 and lower laptops... This is gonna be night and day for me and am really hoping it facilitates me finally having enough power to dev in VR without taking decades of time and effort Thatnks for the content, and if you've learned anything more about the ram speed and max capacity, please, by all means let me know 👍👍👌

I bought a GE 75 for Business use - the entire Adobe suite & Microsoft, and I have many apps in simultaneous use. I have a 2TB SSD and 32GB of RAM but will probably double that (I do not know the max, think it is 64) because of occasional graphics issues in Dreamweaver when moving small amounts of copy...

Why the won't just give us a g-sync OPTION anymore I will never understand. After gaming now for 4 months with adaptive sync, I will never EVER go back, and I doubt anyone else would want to either. My future laptop choices are so minimised these days.

Given that under heavy load the battery drains even with a 280W brick, MSI should have gone with a 330W brick. Undervolting definitely looks necessary with this laptop as well.

It's normal. It's a small form factor for a 2080 super and gaming cpu's in laptops have always ran hot.

Did you click the max fan profile in the MSI utility? It's loud but never goes over 65. Also get a laptop cooler.

I think Dell G5 15 SE is a better option than MSI Bravo. It has much better GPU and still cheaper. Even MSI Alpha is better than Bravo except for the CPU.

So I’m curious because I’m buying this myself and one of the big selling points to me was the compact size for the power, but the measurements you give don’t match up with those on MSI’s website. MSI says the new GE75 is 14.17”x10.43”x.91”. HIDevolution also lists those numbers, but I’ve found other places that list numbers closer to what Jarrod gives. What gives?

Just did the benchmark for Rainbow Six Siege Vulkan 1920 x 1080 Ultra settings TA, on HP omen I7 - 7950H, and normal RTX 2080 and got 254 average frame rate with 202 min fps and 305 max fps, I was thinking to upgrade to the 10750H and RTX 2080 Super. I just got the omen about 2 weeks ago, but seeing this benchmark, don`t know if to change to the new one since spec wise it`s about similar to what you have here

@jarrod'sTech, why when you show the clock speeds on your laptop review videos, do you always get well above what the clock speeds are advertised as? When you get to the FPS parts of your reviews, you show if you have overclocked the gpu and memory but on the stress tests i'm guessing you dont do any overclocking. I was just wondering why this is as you are able to get 1836mhz out of a gpu that should theoretically only be boosting to 1560mhz without overclocking, that's a BIG difference. I am probably just ignorant of the testing process but I'm interested to understand.

Okay , to start off , doesn't Msi Plastic quality in they're laptops feel a bit odd and under qualified ? JPEG Face camera.? capped cpu because of the 7/10 Design ?
