Exactly!!!! Alienware is jxt a junk especially the X series….. I had the X17 R1 and in jxt less than six months the laptop is dead, they say it’s bios Corrupt issues, wow 😳

@@hatty101 If the Legion 7i is only in the mid 70's, it's either terribly undervolted or something else is wrong. Doesn't matter how great the thermal setup is, given those components, you can't hang at 70 degrees if those were operating at max capacity. You're definitely leaving some performance on the table.

I just got this last thursday in the i7 3080 ti qhd sreen configuration and am very impressed with it in every catagory. No regrets on anything. Its amazingly quiet, fast, screen is very bright and doesnt get too hot. Another plus is my samsung galaxy pro earbuds work on it eventhough people online said it didnt and i got 150 off and get a year to pay it off intrerest free on a phphoto credit card.

Hey TRF fan, I did an experiment before by uninstalling Windows 11 and replacing it with Windows 10. The result showed pretty close results but yeah you are right, the Windows 11 machine actually overall had about 2-3fps average less

I still got my M17 R3 I9 2080 Super that works perfectly fine and my next step is to build a desktop PC but if I ever buy another laptop as much as I love my Alienware I've been tempted to try this MSI beast!

Yeah M Morales, I actually have the M17 R3 2070super myself as my main PC that I do all my 4K editing on and it is still going strong. Well it actually was overheating and one of the fans died on me but thanks to my 3 yr warranty Dell fixed that a couple days after my request by replacing the entire fan/heat pipe section and now it works just like new!

Mine had no issues surprisingly never overheated although I've always had it on a stand or a cooling pad but I play hard on it for 5+ hours when I got the time and it has held on pretty well. I do undervolt once in a while and clean the dust from the inside every 6 months to keep it safe 👌

I found some details in an online review on the speakers in this laptop and it certainly sounds like msi upgraded them from last years model where justin stated it was a toss up to the reported crappy speakers of the x17 r1. "On the audio front, MSI outfits the GE76 Raider a quad-speaker design tuned by Dynadio, featuring dual down-firing woofers. They're not gong to compete with any standalone speaker setups, but the layout and tuning sound exceptionally good for a notebook and are clearly a notch above most other laptop setups. Bass, while prevalent, won't knock your socks off, but mids are good and the highs are crisp." I think the speakers sound incredable but i have no other modern gaming laptop to compare it to in person.

Yay! You have the UHD version! That's the one I'm interested in. If you have the time & inclination, would you mind having a look at the colour accuracy & how many nits the screen measures? I'm also interested if it comes with software that enables you to shift between colour spaces easily (SRGB, DCI-P3 & Adobe RGB), without the need to actually calibrate the display & add colour profiles. Also interested to hear what the speakers are like. The laptop will be used for gaming by the gamer in the house, but if I can ever get a look in I'm wanting it for creative stuff, hence the colour & panel questions. Oh, & also keen to know if there is an option in the BIOS or the software to limit battery charging for always plugged in machines. Sadly the Razer 17 4K does not have such an option. Thanks! Please check the backlight bleed from the screen! I just got the i7/3080 ti version with the 1440p panel and its pretty bad. There's also a 'bump' on the bottom bezel of the screen just to the left of the Right hinge. And just above that on the screen is the worse backlight bleed of any corner. I believe this may have happened in manufacturing. I'm a little disappointed by some of the quality you get when paying almost $4000 for a laptop. Some of those things, including the above mentioned are: The backlight bleed. Worst I've seen on any monitor I've owned and especially bad above that 'bump' on the bottom bezel. Speaking of that bottom bezel, the whole bezel between the hinges is VERY flexible and flimsy. The track pad is absolute junk. I often have to hit it 2-3 times, every time, to wake the machine up and often times when just trying to click something in Windows. the tapping works pretty good on it though. It's also pretty small. Making it a bit bigger would have helped with the left vs. right mis-clicks. The 10-key is definitely not full-size like on most keyboards. Not really expecting it to be on a laptop keyboard deck though, but it makes typing on it slower, so it seems to lose the advantage that it has over the number row. Get rid of it and the wider board underneath to put in some better speakers or something... The MSI software is pretty flaky. Not too bad after I updated it once, but things get locked up in it all the time, especially the Mystic Light feature. The backlight on the keyboard never comes back on by itself when I bring the machine out of sleep. I have to use the F10 or F11 keys to turn it back on... Every Time. I'm sure this is probably a software thing between windows and Steel Series... but c'mon, its 2022, there really is no excuse for software this bad. Anyway, I get some of these things sound pretty nit-picky. The track pad and the keyboard things, most people will be quick to say it doesn't matter because you'll probably have a keyboard and monitor plugged into it. Well, yeah for gaming and some other tasks, but I bought a laptop because it gives me the option of going mobile with it, like taking it over to friends houses, when I'm chilling on the couch and need interwebz, traveling etc... I'm not hauling around a mouse, keyboard and monitor for those situations. I haven't even had the chance to load anything up on it yet to play because I think I may return it because of the back light bleed issues. Its bad enough that when I open a window, like Chrome, and its full size on the display, I can see the washed out color in the top-right and bottom-left areas of the window. A little disappointed for spending almost $4000 on this thing... Me and my brother ordered the Alienware x17 R2 with Core i7 and the 3070ti, but I cancelled mine because they pushed the date out to the end of May for delivery, but he decided to wait and kept his order. Thinking I may return this MSI and wait until he gets his and see what the build quality is like. From a few of the vids on here that I've watched reviewers are saying the X17 does have great build quality. It won't be as fast as the MSI, but with the games I typically play, it won't matter much to be 6-8% behind in frame rates having the 3070ti vs the 3080ti. If the build quality is better, i think it may be the better laptop for me personally. /rant off

I have the 4k 12900hk 3080ti spec and it's nearly perfect, the software is so easy to use and overclock, the screen is super bright and gorgeous and the build quality is good, I agree with the touch pad being small tho, iv updated the drivers and the msi software and I couldn't be happier. There is no way I'm ever dealing with Alienwares customer service again, never. I think you should get your laptop replaced because there's hardly any bleed on mine.

The UHD version in this unboxing video is extremely bright. The QHD i7 I tested as well is bright enough but nowhere near as extra bright and beautiful as this screen

I have the GE76 Raider 3k laptop.... Ram went bad lol, over 110000 error with memtest86. Blue screened all the time with a memory_error... Its a good laptop, just cheap ram, upgraded it to kingston fury impact 32gb kit. way better now.

I got one question for your upcoming review. Is the msi ge76 i7 3080 ti faster than the hp omen 45l i9 3080ti? I know hp has slowed the processor down. I now own both of these with no regrets but still curious which one is faster.. Historically desktops are faster with same specs but maybe not with this newest msi beast.

I have it in the same 4k specs, I had to wait 5weeks but it was worth the wait, iv had it for two weeks now, the screen is gorgeous and very bright and 120hz is enough for me, I play everything on extreme and the fans are loud so no problem with headphones but the temps are fine and I haven't even got a cooling pad yet, I'd say assassin's creed odyssey hit the highest temp on my cpu at 85 but generally everything is around 72 and the gpu mid 60s. During benchmarks and compering on KZbin its on par with the 3070ti desktop card when I overclock the gpu and cpu with the msi software.
