I'm using this monitor and loving it! I always cranked up digital vibrance in Nvidia settings but no more, these somewhat saturated colors are my jam! HDR is a hit or miss, some games that support it look great, some bad, it's a kinda try and see thing. Other than that I am very happy with this screen :)

I'm in the market for a gaming monitor right now, and I was wondering if this monitor is still a good option considering it has been a couple of years since you did the review. Here in Australia, I can buy it for $430 (which is about $280 USD, or just under 24,000 rupees). By the sounds of it, it has dropped a fair amount since you made this video, but it seems like a pretty good monitor considering the price tag, and I have been using another MSI monitor for the past 2 years, which has worked well for me.

Hey Mukul! Is this still a great monitor to buy in 2024, since they didnt launch the MSI MAG274QRF-QD E2 in India? It sells for around 30k right now depending on the seller. The testing video on Hardware Unboxed (although very old now) shows that this is an excellent all rounder monitor for gaming and general usage. The QPF-QD (around 5k cheaper) isnt as good as this one. Also, there is a MSI MAG274QRFW at 25k (which is out of stock everywhere) which launched after this one, but I cannot find anything about the response time performance for this one anywhere. Is this still great now?

This is an excellent monitor but just too overpriced for the little refinement it offers overall. Not sure of E2 but looks like it isn't available right now. I've been happily using Acer Nitro v2(the foremost variant) and it's still good. If you're comfortable spending this much go with the MSI QD or just save a ton of money and get the Acer amzn.to/4ckMZcE I'm still not sure how it is costing so less right now(16.5K is crazy) But again if you're comfortable with 30K then get the QD. It just sucks that for that much amount we should at least have the option to get the latest one.

@@Almost_Interesting that's not the QRF-QD E2 unfortunately... and MSI naming scheme sucks.... very confusing. There is a MAG274QRF-QD, MAG274QPF-QD, MAG274QRFW, MAG274QRF, MAG274QPF-E2 and they are ALL different monitors from each other.

If color vibrancy, accuracy and viewing angle matters to you go with Dell. If blacks matter go with G7. On the G7, because it is a VA panel the input lag would be slightly better than the Dell. BUT how much of that would be noticeable is debatable. I use Acer Nitro XV2 that costs half the price and I am very happy with it so far.

@@felix6815 dp 1.2 only supports 8bit colours at 165hz , dp 1.4 support 8bit frc colors at 165hz . ( 8bit can show 16 million different colours , 8 bit frc can show over 1 billion colours) . If u want to use 8bit frc on mag274qrf qd , you will be capped at 120hz whereas in gp850 u can use 8bit frc at 165hz due to dp 1.4 ( in msi mag274qrf , for 165hz u need to use 8bit colour)

I'm really happy seeing you review this particular monitor. And glad you are crystal clear on absurd price. God something was wrong in 2021 India for monitors. LG27gp850-b didn't even launch in India and they're still giving 3 yrs old gl850 monitor. For your acer monitor I read in reviews that the panel manufacturer of it recently changed and now the panel quality is considerably bad than it was before (your unit). Also appreciate you're using low light in studio, white and bright videos kills my eyes. Also noticed the discord reference in the end is flat instead of rotating, flat does look better. Fingers crossed for this year monitor launches in India, as I've to buy one this year for sure!

I don't get this monitor. It says HDR ready, yet it only has DP1.2a which DOES NOT support HDR. Other monitors half this price are DP1.4. It is HDMI2.0 which I believe will carry the signal, but I want to use the DP connection, because I only have one HDMI on my MSI card and 3 DP1.4 connections. The HDMI is used to link to my 4K TV to watch movies or play games that don't need high refresh rates.

HDR is supported via its DP port. But how good the HDR is, that is if anyone would use it - is questionable.

@@MrMuBot How is it supported through a DP1.2 connection? When researching DP, it clearly states DP1.2 does not support a HDR signal. I've bought cables which are 1.2 accidentally for my rig and they did not work. Windows did not allow HDR setting to show up until I replaced the cable with a DP1.4.

@@ArcanePath360 Yes this means this monitor supports emulated HDR and probably that's why it's not so good. I used the supplied DP cable and windows recognized HDR without any hassle on the panel.

If you're really really good then go with a higher refresh rate. If you just play for fun and have a good time doing that, and being competitive isn't your primary reason for gaming, then save your 120$.

Both the MSI and Gigabyte are solid monitors. Equals for gaming and for consuming media. Both are IPS so you can't expect absolute blacks from them.

Hello I am looking for my first gaming monitor as I currently own 60 hz. I play loads of Cod multiplayer and tryhard lot lol. I also play single player games like the campaign, Horizon Forbidden west, Elden ring and will be getting thr new God of War. I stay in South Africa so our variety like the Gigabyte etc is not available. The current 2 I am looking at is the Asus vg27wq1b which is a Curved 27 inch 1440 p VA monitor. 1 ms/120 %srgb etc. At R7500 my currency. The Msi Mag274Qrf-qd is available here which is 1440 p Flat IpS. I know 1080 is strictly for hardcore fps(i have the Alienware 25 inch 240 ips available for R6000 local currency). I want the best performance for my tryhard fast paced fps gamrs. In terms of colors/best response and minimal input delay. The MsI Cost R9400 local. A third more than the Asus but i do not know how the asus will do as I hear things about ghosting(even though it is advertised as 0 ghosting) etc. Please help. 1080 240 hz 25 inch AW for 6000 or the 1440 p asus curved 27 inch for 7500 or the msi for R9400.
