MSI Ventus 3X 4070 Ti OC Unboxing, Review & Benchmarks

Hi John, Just installed the MSI Ventus 3x 4070TI myself. Would you reccomend using the anti-sag GPU bracket? I noticed you didn't install it but that might be because you were just testing the card?

I've been using that same card for a couple of months now without the GPU bracket. It's a pretty light card. Others may counter, if you have it, use it. I don't experience any issues. It's similar to the other smaller cards, Zotac Trinity, and ProArt. They aren't very heavy. Now, y ou get into the 4080/4090 range cards and I definitely recommend using them.

Great review! Have you tried to undervolt as well? Can you do both uv + oc?

I am trying to decide on a 4070ti as well. I like the Zotac Trinity ($759), ASUS Pro-art ($779) and the Gigabyte Windforce OC ($759). Which would you recommend? Or is there another model I should consider?

Ohhh, good choices. I'd choose the Zotac Trinity over the Gigabyte Windforce. I haven't personally reviewed the Windforce, so that's why I lean towards the Zotac. Between the Zotac Trinity and the Asus ProArt. Such a tough decision. After speaking with Asus, they've really pointed out how much effort they put into their design and form factor. I haven't had a chance to speak with Zotac directly. If you don't want RGB or if the new Zotac design bothers you, go with the ProArt. It's such an incredible design. I'd also consider the ProArt to be a mid-tier card vs the Zotac Trinity and Windforce are entry-level. So, I recommend ProArt for the extra $20. Let me know what you end up deciding.

I would suggest to read more about Zotac, read an messages that these cards have bad idle consumption, leads high wattage use even when not really doing much. in comparison to others.

Scratch this entire comment. The company that ran that deal fuck me and others by sending us the wrong card having us send it back and then no having the ti version in stock. So thats completely infuriating

I recommend the Zotac Trinity OC 4070 Ti has the best value for money.. my second choice is the MSI Gaming X Trio for a mid-range card. Then, yes, the Strix for a higher end card.

A 7900xtx is MUCH faster than a 4070 Ti in raw performance. It beats out a 4080 in most cases. What you don't get with the 7900xtx is DLSS, but you can use FSR these days instead. Although I've been team NVIDIA for years, a 7900xtx would be an incredible card. It really comes down the games you are playing if they support DLSS or FSR.

Would u recommend this card? I could take this ventus x3 4070 ti for £649 or Msi 4070 super gaming x slim for £649. Is there any oc potential in the card?

I would recommend the Ventus 4070 Ti. I have been using one for months and it’s great. A 4070 Ti is much faster than a 4070. Unless you want the RGB on the Gaming X Slim, I’d recommend going with the Ventus.

Hi guys I just got my 4070ti msi 3x oc and I’m looking for the perfect cpu and motherboard for my build that I’m about to build any help thanks and I’m looking to be running ultra settings at 1440p I play cyberpunk and starfield heavy ??

The perfect CPU and motherboard, such a loaded question. If your purpose is to play those games, and only games.. then I'd recommend a 14700k or 7800x3D CPU. Those are the two best gaming CPUs for Intel and AMD. I'd lean towards the 7800x3D myself. Which motherboard? That'll all depend on your needs. First, pick a CPU, then you'll need a motherboard with that socket type. Each socket type comes with 2-3 different chipset variations.. lower and higher end. Example, B650 vs X670 or X670-E. You'll need to check out a chart to see the differences between them to know which is best for you, given your budget. Hope that helps!

The only difference between the 14700K and 14700KF is that the KF doesn't have onboard video. You have a GPU, so it isn't required, but for the extra $30, I always go with the K model. It's great for troubleshooting if your GPU isn't working and it has more flexibility with resell. The 14700 CPU is an i7. I wouldn't bother with an i9 unless you need multi-cores for video editing, or something similar. If your focus is games, get an i7.

Yeah, my guess is that the thermals will be slightly warmer than their standard card due to being slim. Similar to the ProArt card though, it will work really well. I'll see if I can find one locally to try it out.

Sorry but the msi Ventus Cards have the worst thermals at least if used for professional Applications

Don't get me wrong, it's MSI's lowest end card and their other cards have better thermals. That being said, I've been using that card for 6 months now without any issues.. both gaming and video editing.

You could try reselling it. It's a bit of a D move to sell someone a card with bad coil whine, but some people also don't care. It doesn't affect performance at all.

Yes, that's correct. Also known as 12vhpwr. All 4000 series GPUs use this new power connector.

@@JohnLCharette ok maybe I’m being hyperbolic by saying it’s the worst card but I’m used to top tier EVGA FTW and Asus Strix GPUs. So the MSI RTX 3080 Ventus X3 has no overclocking potential and got toasty while playing games. I had to disassemble the Ventus to change the thermal pads and thermal paste. Now after doing that the card sits at 80C while gaming.

Yeah, I don't tend to recommend these entry-level cards if you plan on overclocking or really pushing them hard. They'll work and perform well, but the higher-end cards, such as a FTW3 or Strix have been designed much better. That's why they are more expensive though.
