Elvis Presley said that he would give up all his fame and fortune to walk the streets like a normal person
@robkrasinski62174 ай бұрын
I don't care for rap with cuss words in it. I like music from the 50's to the 80's and maybe part of the 90's. My dad who passed March 8, 1986 had some Elvis records, and others from the 50's, 60's, and 70's and we sold most of them. But, I bought a bunch of 45's and a few big ones at an auction at an antique store near me, and some on ebay, and CD's and tapes at a garage sale near me more recently. I lost my mom June 14, 2022 in the hospital, her lungs were scarred and her breathing got worse. My mom liked to sing to music in the car in the 80's and she would sing along to 80's songs like Whitney Houston, Madonna, Lean on Me by Club Nouveau, Rick Astley, Nothing's gonna change my love for you by Glenn Madeiros (1987), and more. I don't like what 99% of what people younger than me like.

@@robkrasinski6217 my opinion pick and choose which rap artists you listen too most of them talk shit so why would you wanna listen to them 🙈 but the right rap artist will have you hooked. I love old skool music and you can’t beat it but if you want to listen to something rap and current Kendrick Lamar and Drake have a beef on at the moment and it’s really good (Kendrick that is not Drake) you might like it.

@@robkrasinski6217I'm so uneasy hearing about all those Elvis records gone missing 😅 Record collections are priceless treasures, IMO. I had huge CD collections growing up, all of which I got rid of due to circumstances larger than me. Evicted from apartments and shit situations in my youth. Now I finally have a stable life and I'm working on building up my CD collection again, re-buying favourites from all my various phases.

I remember when I hit 100,000 in the hood ata casino. My god!!! I'd have to look both ways before I opened the door just to grab my newspaper. People would wait outside my house all day just to catch me and ask me for money or do something for them. Because I'm always so fuckin kind!!! It's a illness always thinking of others before me!!. But it got annoying I'd have to literally stay in my house most of the time. When I had to do arrands I would literally run to the car!! Do my arrands and run back inside at random ass times!! Just so they wouldn't catch me the whole neighborhood knew I was rich!!! It was annoying!!! My sidewalk would staaaaaaaaaaay shoveled before I even noticed it was snowing!!!! And I wouldn't ask NOBODY to Do it they'd just do it because they knew I'd feel obligated to look out. I totally understand his problems!!!!! It was annoying tho when I went broke I wasn't popular anymore

I saw Michael C Hall in 2021 back in Central Park. I absolutely loved Dexter. He happened to look my way and i gave him a thumps up and a wave and went about my day. Could swear there was visible relief on his face. Not hassled for a picture or an autograph, just a subtle I see you and I appreciate you. More people should try it with celebs, theyre normal people with stress just like us, not gods.
@ablaze8612 ай бұрын
I live in NY, so it's not unusual to encounter celebrities. My first encounter was with David Letterman at the height of his celebrity. Did I mention that I was a huge fan. On a quiet Saturday morning, I needed cash, so I found an atm near the UN and stood behind a really tall man. After using the atm, he turned around and we locked eyes. The terror in his eyes was intense. Instead of making anything of his presence, I said "are you done?" He immediately relaxed and responded, "yup." When I heard Cher's voice, I didn't bother turning round. She was shopping with another person and definitely not working. I worked as a cashier in college, and I made Glenn Close laugh. I was muttering under my breath and didn't care who heard me. Imagine my surprise when I looked up and saw her bright eye stairing back at me. When it comes to celebrities, I've learned to ignore their celebrity if they aren't working. And they normally respond accordingly. Simon Cowell was the ONLY exception. We locked eyes on a Metro North train and he, nodded and smile in a way to say, "Yes, it's me!" Instead of smiling back, I turned around and walked to the other side of the train car. My training runs deep.

Its something else having your privacy and ability to disappear and fade into a crowd ripped away from you, your family, your friends and associates…being associated with u all of a sudden becomes a blessing and a curse of unmistakable identity to the masses worldwide! Slim Shady was a persona he had to embody to deal with the fame side of things. Slim had a thick skin, slim didn’t give a fuck and could handle all the touring hours and grueling studio hours…slim shady could swallow all the drugs and marshall felt the consequences of all of that at the end. When you have to split your entire identity to swallow the shock of your entire life becoming a financial entity and brand that other people control…thats a trauma shared by only a select few worldwide superstars and everyone wants a piece of them, highest bidder asking price…thats what they mean when they say the price of fame is your soul sold to the devil.
