@MeenasHappyLife3 ай бұрын
The back up camera isn't working because I had to unhook it from my battery. It and the radio were hooked up wrong. It was working when I first got the van. It is on a wire that runs from under the hood to the back of the van. I think I may need a new camera piece in the rear. The shades came with the van. Standard in most of these types of vans.

It’s crazy I have so many of the same things in my van. I am going to get some black foam from dollar tree though and do your trick with them.
@MeenasHappyLife3 ай бұрын
It's pretty easy. I just took some Kraft paper and traced the windows, then taped it onto the black foam board with painters tape and cut it out. But a couple got cut a little short so I just added purple duct tape to the edges to make it fit. I'm going to do them over for the winter with the foam board and maybe reflectics or felt fabric.

Consider tuning the front passenger seat around. your wasting space, the only modification is to drilling new bolt holes in the base of the chair and you'll be able re use the original bolt pattern. I had a 97 low top I now have a 98 high top. I can send you images of the passenger seat turned around if you would like. van life is also about being a minimalist you have a lot of unnecessary items in premium spaces, also better power management that should be centralized and out the way, tv upgrade I used Sharp LC-15S2U which is 12v no hdmi but it works if you have vhs or dvd like i do.

Don't even need to do that. I bought a swivel base for my E350 from Field Van.
@MeenasHappyLife3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I want to have a swivel seat, but what about my huge console where the doghouse is? I did think about turning the seat around, but sometimes my grandchildren ride with me. I want to take the tv, vcr and disc player out for storage space, then some of my things can be up out of the way. I also want to get a Dc to Dc to charger from my starter battery. But these things take time and most importantly money. But I'm still learning that everything is not done in an instant. My sons can help but with the economy they have been working overtime at work. Do you know anything about those Marine batteries that I can use to power my fridge? That would help me a lot. Right now I'm having issues with my solar panels. I had to order new connectors for it. It's raining here today, so I can't test the new cords to see if my panels still work. And I don't know if you saw my other video, but I just got my whole break system fixed, so the funds are low. Thanks again for watching!!

@@MeenasHappyLife good point, my console isnt like that. Not sure it would work. A dc2dc charger is a game changer for sure. Very happy with mine. I have an Epoch 460 amp hour LFP battery. Expensive, but basically unlimited power. Reply

@@cabracove Congratulations, this message isn't for you. furthermore, why spend on a base she doesn't need and the center console is in the way to freely swivel the seat.
@knemphotography90733 ай бұрын
@@MeenasHappyLife it's good to know that you have the swivel base, the dog house would be in the way to freely swivel the seat that's the downside. well since you have passengers, I guess its best to to keep it where it is. i thought about the tv location as well that you may use it for storage. marine batteries, i know nothing about, im planning on upgrading to XS POWER D6500 deep cycle battery. i have honda EU2000 generartor for power when cooking when i'm at the beach ,the van is wired for shore power as well, im not knowledgeable about using solar panels i didn't go that direction.

To the right of your steering wheel is two power outlets. The lower one looks like a cig lighter. I noticed your plugging in stuff to the upper one. Is not the cig lighter one useable? Also when I move into my Van like yours, I want to sleep on the bench seat like you do rather than putting it into a bed position. I'm short to do it. How comfy is the bench seat to sleep on? I need to lie down and see for myself soon. You've done much in a short time. Looking good. Diane
@MeenasHappyLife3 ай бұрын
Yeah, that outlet doesn't work, Idk why maybe a fuse. The one under my seat does though. The sofa is comfortable because I added a foam egg crate thingy and then a thick mattress pad from my queen bed. Then a fitted sheet, flat sheet and comforter. Then I added a quilt and a moving blanket that I already had ( used it last winter for my back door) washed it up and put it on the seat part so the other stays clean. It's good for me, I'm 5'3" and sometimes I just move the sofa back down some to have more " elbow" room..
@dianevitale12143 ай бұрын
You have a power outlet under your seat? to like charge your phone? Do you have to run the Van to charge phone, etc.? I'm soo dumb about all. I figured you'd need something on the bench seat to sleep. I laid down on mine for one minute to see, but it's not like sleeping on it all night.Good tip about moving blanket, Will have a dozen of them after I make the move. THANKS for responding.

I also have my dual fuel cooktop, with a heat defuser that goes on top. Currently just using the propane heater. I get the van nice and toasty with the van heater Then when I park I turn the propane heater on low to medium and let that go until I go to bed. Then I have 2 blankets and a double folded quilt that I sleep under. Nice and cozy.
