Something that I noticed about fusion: When Spinel hit everyone with the rejuvenator, no one got disgusted by Ruby and Sapphire's fusion, and Garnet did not feel afraid, not even Pearl, who was made to be a perfectionist, said it was wrong. That shows fusion between different gems isn't "naturally wrong", it was probably a social construction rule made by the Diamonds. Gems doesn't naturally hate fusions, they were taught to.

The issue was its highly highly inappropriate for gems to fuse with gems outside of their own and of a noble with a single guard. She was part of blues court as a highly respected Saphire rubies were a dime a dozen that were in groups. Honestly, before Ruby and Saphire, I don't think gems ever dated like ever just were servants mindlessly following their diamond until Pink went rogue.

i think it's been a wide spread theory that our pearl is like a default pearl (not customized to be matching with her owner, like Volleyball and Blue Pearl) so i guess gems shrugged it off as someone else's pearl who's gone rogue, especially since she isn't wearing the same clothing she had when she was serving pink (the dress that had all the diamonds' colors) as for the voice, i've noticed that when pink transforms into rose, her voice becomes more "mature" and a little deeper. but either when she's alone with pearl or she's pink, her voice becomes a bit more high pitched and jovial like a child (also she probably wouldn't have had a lot of opportunities to actually speak to them because you know, she's a diamond who's been told to "just smile and wave")

I love this video, just wanted to point this out for the fandom in general: I feel like too many people are saying things like "oh Garnet said love takes work, but then Ruby and Sapphire said they were in love within a day of meeting eachother." When technically, In 'Isn't it love' it says "doesn't this have a name?" Which implies that she's aware that she's existed before (as well as Ruby and Sapphire's love), but just doesn't remember how or when. Pink Ninja Productions I’m pretty sure the two were on Earth with each other more than just a day. Because when Garnet said love takes time and work, they were *much* more on Earth than just a day, therefore that leads Garnet to saying that phrase. In Something Entirely New, it was probably just a snippet to what they’ve done on Earth, leading them to love each other slowly and live as a fusion for way over 5000 years, because the first time we’ve seen them unfuse was in “Three Gems and a Baby”, when Garnet unfused to see Ruby and Sapphire’s season one looks, so Garnet didn’t plan tonight un-fuse until Steven’s 14th birthday, but due to “The Return” and the “Keystone Motel” situation, the plan was unsuccessful, which is why this leads to this episode existing.

bleh I mean, they’ve had to have conflicts that would result in a less stable fusion. Yes, we see them falling in love fast, but these two have been together for a long time. We don’t see that entire timeline. At one point, I would think the more fuzzy, floating feelings we see here faded over time, so that the two would have to strengthen their relationship for real. I think Garnet’s love did take work; we just don’t witness that.

He was probably one of the first people to treat her like an equal. Not talk down to her, but make her listen on even footing to him. She wanted to be able to experience that, even if she wasn't technically even there to experience it anymore. She wanted to be a part of it, and gave up her existence- as we see in the movie, to let Steven exist. There was no way she could have known what would happen to Steven if she did this. She assumed they were relatively safe on earth. In all honesty, I don't think Rose would have had Steven if she saw what he's had to go through, and the strife she caused him.
