I understand why Skinner made that choice to make profit, the restaurant was falling apart and was doing what he can to keep the business alive, he just went about it the wrong way. I wouldn't want my promised inheritance to go to someone incompetent either. Contrary to popular belief, Syndrome was not right all along. Now allow me to explain. As we know, when he was Buddy Pine, all he wanted was to join Mr. Incredible and help him out, but Mr. Incredible kept refusing and rejecting him, which drove him to villainy. However, it never occurred to Buddy that his hero was only trying to protect him. After all, being a superhero can be dangerous, especially for children. If Mr. Incredible did let Buddy join him, he would have been allowing him to put his life in danger. Not to mention, Buddy had already proven how unfit he was to be super as he clearly didn't realize there's more to being super than cool suits, gadgets and beating up bad guys. If his massive ego hadn't prevented him from realizing the dangers of being super and that Mr. Incredible just wanted him safe, he wouldn't have turned bad. So really, it's Buddy's fault he turned bad. Though I do agree that Mr. Incredible could have been much more nicer about rejecting him.

The "Self-Serving Memory" page on TVTropes takes this a step further: "While Syndrome guilts Mr. Incredible into thinking he was wrong to have rejected him as a sidekick, his flashback conveniently omits all the problems _he_ caused that night. The scene of Mr. Incredible telling Buddy that he works alone is a particularly interesting example: In the actual events, Mr. Incredible was struggling against a supervillain named Bomb Voyage while trying to both apprehend the villain and convince Buddy to leave the dangerous situation. In Syndrome's flashback, Mr. Incredible's pose and tone is far more condescending and dismissive, and Bomb Voyage is entirely absent, making it seem like Mr. Incredible was pushing Buddy away for no reason at all."

@@TheMaskGamer2007 The thing is although Mr. Incredible could have treated him better, perhaps even if Mr. Incredible had not rejected him, he would either still become a villain eventually, or at least an anti-hero as his reckless nature aside, Buddy's self-serving nature made him unworthy of being a hero.

It’s worth noting that the sea witch in “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen isn’t as evil and manipulative as Ursula. Sure, the conditions that the sea witch laid out for the mermaid were harsh and bloody, but she never lied to the little mermaid about them. The sea witch never interfered with the mermaid’s plans to win the prince’s heart. However, when the little mermaid was unable to win the prince’s heart, the mermaid’s sisters were able to renegotiate the deal with the sea witch by trading in their locks of hair in exchange for a dagger that the mermaid would plunge into the prince’s heart in order to turn her back into a mermaid as opposed to sea foam. Furthermore, the little mermaid went to the sea witch on her own volition (as opposed to escaping an abusive father); and the sea witch initially refused to allow the mermaid become human for the prince only to then give in despite the sea witch’s warnings to the little mermaid that it would lead to heartbreak.

@@Wiiguy1606 That’s more than I can say for the filmmakers of “The Little Mermaid” (1989) who most likely didn’t read, let alone understood, the source material. I’m honestly convinced that Disney’s decision to turn “The Little Mermaid” into a romantic comedy was due to the success of “Splash”, a 1984 fantasy rom-com about a mermaid (played by Daryl Hannah) who falls for the first human guy she saves from drowning (played by Tom Hanks) and then acquires legs in order to be with him on land for a few days, even though she can’t talk. “Splash” was released under Disney’s adult facing label “Touchstone Films”, so yes, “Splash” counts as a Disney movie. And sure, the fairy tale “The Little Mermaid” predates “Splash” by a century, but there are some elements in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” that did not exist in the fairy tale but did exist in “Splash”: - Ariel swimming through a sunken ship - Ariel being fascinated by a music box featuring a dancing couple on it - Ariel exhibiting terrible table manners while wearing a nice pink dress on her dinner date with Prince Eric in which the main course is some form of crustacean - Ariel transforming into a mermaid while wearing a nice blue dress in front of everyone including Prince Eric - Prince Eric chasing after Ariel in the water to save her from the bad guys during the film’s climax

Couldn’t agree more. He took his anger out on other toys, especially Big Baby, Chuckles and Andy’s toys. Big Baby and Chuckles still rightfully belonged to Daisy, but Lotso let his disappointment completely consume him and snatched the two innocent toys away from Daisy. It’s ridiculous how he turned Sunnyside Daycare into a prison and issued wrongful punishments against Andy’s toys for attempts at departure from the campus, disagreeing with his views and showing connections to their owners. Most importantly, he nearly killed Andy’s toys at the incinerator even after Woody and Buzz saved his life. Lotso is ultimately a spiteful toy with a heart made of stone incapable of redemption.

I say the same, he took out all his anger towards others, becaming in a monster, mistreating and hating the new toys
@pbsfundingaddict790
@pbsfundingaddict790 Жыл бұрын
@@BG-be8di I agree with you. What Lotso did was virtually inexcusable and unforgivable compared to this. - Even though he was once a loving, kind-hearted and caring friend of Big Baby and Chuckles, all of that changed completely the moment he saw Daisy with another Lotso, turning himself into a wrathful and abusive tyrant who imprisoned innocent toys for pleasure. While he justified his actions to Buzz by saying that children in the caterpillar room, he later admitted he sent toys to the caterpillar room so they’ll be thrown away. - He transformed Sunnyside Daycare into a depressing prison where he forces toys who are lower in the pecking order to be beaten, abused and played with roughly by the younger kids, eventually causing them to break, at which point they get sent to the dumpster and are likely incinerated. Toys that defy Lotso are placed into the sandbox. He even has this happen to Mr. Potato Head and lets Ken see to it happening twice. He's also providing a cutting and choking hazard for the kids by providing them with age-inappropriate toys in the first place. This makes his torture unique compared to Sid, who was kind of a jerk to his sister, but had no idea that toys were alive. - It is implied that he had Chuckles beaten, broken and even injured after he decided that he wasn't going to have any part of Lotso's empire, despite him being his friend. - He brainwashed Buzz Lightyear into becoming one of his henchmen when the latter refused to join the Butterfly Room alone, manipulating him into thinking Andy's toys are helpers of Emperor Zurg and then having him beat down and lock up his own friends all while smiling maliciously. - When he finds out that Andy's toys have escaped and saw that Chatter Telephone was involved in this, he and his gang tortured and injured him to confess their whereabouts until he told him that the protagonists are at the dumpster. - After Big Baby hears the truth about Daisy from Woody, Lotso (who had continuously lied to him over the years about her not loving them anymore and replacing them while also pretending to be his father figure) smashes his pendant before violently poking him with his mallet in front of everyone else, including his own minions whom Lotso calls dummies. - He orders Stretch to push Woody and the other toys into the dumpster. Amongst said other toys is Ken, whom Lotso personally throws there with as a petty punishment just for loving Barbie. Even his henchmen are disgusted by this; hence, Stretch doesn't like being called a dummy and watching his friend Ken be abused, and never tries to push the toys as he was ordered to. - He drags Woody into the dumpster so that he can make sure the cowboy dies along with him. - He leaves Andy's toys to die in the incinerator, despite Woody and Buzz risking their own lives to save him from the shredder earlier, thus he would have succeeded of having the toys massacred if not for the Aliens' intervention. - Although his minions served him, Lotso doesn't even care about them because he only just used them as his slaves for following his orders and doing the horrible dirty work of ruling Sunnyside. - As Woody points out, Lotso's backstory doesn't justify anything he did. No matter how much Daisy "abandoning" him hurt him, his actions surpassed the excuse because: - The reason why Daisy replaced Lotso was because he was her favorite toy and she lost him purely by accident, not because she didn't love him. - He forced Chuckles and Big Baby to run away from home and join him in his suffering, even though they weren't even replaced at all, only him. Big Baby would spend years assuming he had been replaced too. Even when Chuckles tried to point out the truth about Lotso's replacement as well. - The toys that Lotso took his anger out on had nothing to do with him getting replaced at all. - To summarize it, Lotso abandoned Daisy, not the other way around, due to not being able to accept someone else having her if he couldn't, making his motive a selfish one, and by extension, it turns his horrendous treatment of the other toys into his way of angrily lashing out at everyone else with the mindset that if he can't be happy, no one can. Also, when he left Woody and the gang to die, all the sympathy was thrown out of the window.

@@jarjaxle Test audiences who sympathized with Lotso for his backstory wanted him to push the button in the incinerator scene to redeem himself. However, according to the DVD commentary, director Lee Unkrich explained that the filmmakers decided to drop Lotso's chance for redemption in order to make the audience who had gotten to know Andy's toys over the past fifteen years in three movies care about the heroes even more as they went to the fire when it looked like the end for them before the Pizza Planet Aliens rescued them with the claw. Another reason is because they did not want Lotso to get off so easy, so they just increased his cruelty to ensure to the audience that he deserved what he got in the end (being strapped to the grille of a garbage truck).

Even when he was a child, his anger at Mr. Incredible rejecting him became heavily outweighed by his lack of regard for what a super means and self-serving desires. This is especially true since: As a child, he was very reckless and ignorant; he went into Mr. Incredible's car without permission and even claimed that he didn't have to worry about training him because he, as Mr. Incredible's biggest fan, already knows his every move. He simply assumed that the reason he was told to go home was because he had no superpowers, even though it's evident that it's much more because he was interfering while Mr. Incredible was trying to stop Bomb Voyage and that Mr. Incredible was worrying about his safety, which he exploited. He believes that being a super is about wearing cool outfits and beating people up instead of saving lives. This shows that he had no desire to help other people and only wanted to be a super just for fame. Neither as a child or adult does he acknowledge that his recklessness nearly got himself and civilians on a train killed if it weren't for Mr. Incredible, leading to one of the lawsuits that forced supers into hiding. The other supers whom he killed and the citizens he endangered with his Omnidroids had nothing to do with Mr. Incredible rejecting him at all. While he didn't have a full understanding of what it means to be a superhero at the time, he developed vindictive personalities all because of Mr. Incredible rejecting him, despite being a little too harsh. So even though Mr. Incredible had rejected him in a harsh way, he doesn't deserve to have his whole family in danger. Ultimately, Mr. Incredible rejected him not only because he preferred to work solo, but also that it would have been irresponsible of him to take a child under his wing in a dangerous field of work. His ignorance and unawareness of the danger almost got himself killed by Bomb Voyage had Mr. Incredible not forgone apprehending him to save him, therefore he brought his own misery onto himself. Although Mr. Incredible could have handled it better, he still went far beyond the excuse. Even as a child, Syndrome is made clear to have already had self-serving desires and a total disregard for superhero principles. He believed that being a superhero was about wearing cool outfits and getting to beat people up, showing no real desire to help others. Essentially, Syndrome just cared for the "Super" part and not for the "Hero" one. This was proven when Syndrome tells Mr. Incredible that all he wanted is to help him, a flashback of Syndrome's memory is seen and the terrorist Bomb Voyage is absent from his mind. Therefore, although Mr. Incredible could have treated him better, perhaps even if Mr. Incredible had not rejected him, he would either still become a villain eventually, or at least an anti-hero as his reckless nature aside, Buddy's self-serving nature made him unworthy of being a hero. To be fair, however, he was a kid at the time, so he may not have understood what being a superhero really meant, though despite this, he didn't realize as he grew up that Mr. Incredible wasn't in the wrong, and even if he didn't want to forgive Mr. Incredible for his harsh treatment on him, that didn't justify going after supers who had nothing to do with his rejection. Also, when he recalled on how Mr. Incredible treated him that time, he omitted Bomb Voyage's presence and made his quote ("Fly home, Buddy. I work alone.") in a condescending tone rather than for his own good. As Woody points out, Lotso's backstory, while somewhat pitiful, doesn't justify anything he did. No matter how much Daisy "abandoning and replacing" him hurt him, his actions surpassed the excuse because: The reason why she replaced him was because he was her favorite toy and she lost him purely by accident, not because she didn't love him. Also, her parents are the ones to blame since they did not pick up her toys when she fell asleep and bought a replacement for her instead of going back to find him. Then again, replacing their child's lost toy rather than going out of their way to retrieve it in a remote location makes sense from an adult's perspective. He forced Chuckles and Big Baby to leave Daisy and join him in his suffering, even though they weren't even replaced at all, only him. Big Baby would spend years assuming he had been replaced too. Even when Chuckles tried to point out the truth about his replacement as well, he didn't listen and instead furiously insisted that she replaced all of them. To summarize it, he was the one who actually abandoned her and not the other way around, because as explained above, he forced his two former friends to run away from her even if they weren't replaced at all. The toys that he took his anger out on had nothing to do with him getting replaced and him abandoning her at all, with his horrendous treatment of them being his way of angrily lashing out at everyone else with the mindset that if he can't be happy, no one can, also when he left Woody and his gang to burn to death in the incinerator, all his sympathy was thrown out of the window. The animators also admitted that they increased Lotso's cruelty in the final version of the film in order to ensure that people understood that he deserved his defeat in the end. While her getting banished by King Triton sometime before the events of the franchise could be seen as a bit tragic, it is never played for sympathy nor does it justify her actions in any way, as she simply wants to overthrow him and take control of Atlantica herself instead of simply ruling by his side. Not to mention that she is not against turning him into a polyp (which is considered a fate worse than death) just to get what she wants. There's no proof of mistreatment from Triton so you can't put the accusing finger on him. Shere Khan also puts fear into other animals and show sadistic pleasure in doing it and hunts for pleasure and malice as opposed to survival according to Kaa's dislike which also makes him a villain besides his hatred of Man. Since Yzma stated that she practically raised Kuzco, it's obvious that he became selfish thanks to his upbringing by her which means that she's always bad before getting fired. We like the original Disney Peter Pan film and book the way they are including Peter Pan as the main protagonist and Captain Hook the main villain regardless of the boy's flaws so no swap is needed. Most of the time, Disney Villains are never misguided, just evil despite reasons and even then, they don't excuse their actions so they're mostly wrong and never right. Hopefully no more villains who are right things in future for you to correct yourself and the info I show to you will help you see and understand things.

Kind of hard to put Gabby Gabby in the villain category since Toy Story 4 kind of didn’t have a villain per say… as opposed to the others in 1-3

Also, your quip about maleficint "if you didn't want to invite her, you should have kept it as a small party" gives off victim blaming vibes. "Well if you didn't want your child to die in the shooting, you should have had them befriend the shooter!"

The fortune was left to the Duchess and her kittens Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse which means any kittens born from Marie, Berlioz, or Toulouse would inherit the fortune. So Edgar would never inherit the fortune because it would belong to the generations of kittens born from Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse.

Hades being worked in the underworld is a Grimm job and he hates it. Honestly, you can’t blame a guy that hates his job of his every day. Even not being like his brothers Zeus and Poseidon
@dylantennant6594
@dylantennant6594 Жыл бұрын
But fairer question: Whose going to the job if not him? And also, both the movie and the tv series show that Hades is to blame for the standards of the underworld. Such as forcing the dead to float in the styx rather then go to an abode like in the myths. So really, if Hades's life is hell, its of his own making.

While Evelyn Dever's loss of her parents is tragic, it doesn't make her right because super heroes and their are very practical because they can do things that regular police, firemen and even the military can't, which saves even more lives whose could have been otherwise lost. Her anti-dependant on supers also puts society of great danger because what if there was a villian with super powers? If you had a super villian then no amount of police or a huge army could stand against him or her (well, it can depending on the power but let's for argument sake say that the villian have tremendous powers or is like Jack-Jack, have a huge variety of powers) then you need super heroes who could fight this super villian and prevent him or her from taking over the world and rule it as an all-powerful ruthless dictator. Plus Evelyn/Screenslaver's method of killing several innocent people and supers (including the cvilians at the docks) doesn't justify her idiotic plight, it just makes her a heartless monster. If I were Elastigirl, I would let her die and not save her because it wasn't a life worth saving and death is the best punishment to a irredeemable monster (like so many villians). Violet said the point in the film that she could use her wealth to bribe the best lawyer into saving her from lifetime in jail (which would be too nice a punishment, like I said she deserved death for her actions and irradical thinking despite her tragic background, also it was the ban of the supers that caused her parents death like her brother said, so he is right and she was wrong) which could result in her attempting to make supers banned again or getting revenge by becoming a villian (let's hope it doesn't go that way if there'll be an Incredibles 3 but there's a new villian and this time an ACTUAL SUPER VILLIAN with powers and making him ruthless, cold and downright evil, no more symphetic or suprise villians, just the classical villian we love to hate and get the punishment he or she deserves). So NO, she wasn't right at all!

I literally never comment on a WatchMojo video. They usually have a pretty good grasp on reality with their lists. But there is a first time for everything. There's no way you all can look at Sid and try to convince me that he was "just a kid" "not hurting anyone", etc. He bullied his little sister and other children, taking their stuff (stealing) and butchering them. He did not know the toys were alive, but he liked to believe they were while he tortured them, frequently talking about them as if they were going to respond while he burned, deconstructed and otherwise destroyed them. he didn't have the makings of a surgeon or anything of the sort. Those types of people usually find joy in "operating" on their toys and successfully recuperating them. He displayed textbook future psychopath behaviors. Also props for being so blind as to call Sid "just a kid" for the crap he does while protecting child manipulators (Ursula) Attempted Child murderers (Shere Kahn) And Nepoticide (Hades). Like I get it. A lot of Disney villains are likeable for some reason or another, but to title this list as "Right all along" is BS

Yzma was no better a ruler than Kuzco. At the start of the movie, she tells the father of a starving family that he "should have thought of that before becoming peasants." And Callaghan losing his daughter does not justify him murdering Tadashi and attempting to kill Hiro and his other students.

I have to disagree with shere khan the tiger being justified. The only reason he has it out for humans is because he wants to stay at top of the food chain in the jungle, he knows that humans are above tigers in the food chain, so he wants to get rid of the kid. It has nothing to do with him wanting the jungle and it’s animals to be safe from humans.

Y’all have THREE (3) people who tried to UNALIVE CHILDREN, but when it comes to Syd who was bullying younger kids (including his own sister), STEALING their toys, and not just destroying them, but DISMEMBERING them, (and it’s been repeated several times a child dismembering their dolls is a sign of psychopathy) and y’all said that’s NORMAL bc he’s a child???? And not to mention he played with EXPLOSIVES and while dismembering all those toys he stole he imagined they were real. No, he doesn’t know they’re sentient , but he imagines that they are, he imagined they were alive and he was hurting them! Y’all made this list to piss us off.

So let me get this straight: Sid stealing Hannah’s doll, destroying it, and then terrorizing her with what he did to it (beheading and attaching a pterodactyl head to the body) is him “not being the best brother”? What? And him being a kid isn’t an excuse Also re: Edgar. Dutchess and kittens weren’t literally going to inherit. The instructions in the will would probably stipulate that the money should primarily be used for their care. I think Edgar could do whatever with it otherwise as long as he’s also making sure they’re properly fed, healthy, and given shelter. Meaning he might lose it entirely if he neglects them. Plus given how determined he was to get rid of them: We don’t know where he was initially planning to dump them. For all we know he was going to dump them in the river. Then he goes back to retrieve the evidence connecting him to the catnapping. When Dutchess and kittens get back home he gaslights Madame into thinking she only imagined hearing them meowing (gaslighting in the sense that he allowed her to believe she was imagining things with the fake sympathetic “I’m so sorry Madame” when she goes back inside heartbroken) when in reality he had gotten to them first and hid them from her. Finally his plan to send them off to Timbuktu in a trunk that had no air, no food, no water. None of that is right or justified. It’s pure greed plain and simple. This is also ignoring that realistically all those sleeping pills would have killed the cats and Roquefort. Like I don’t know exactly how many were in that bottle he emptied into the Crème de la crème a la Edgar but it looked like a fair amount and the bottle was completely emptied. I know I know it’s Disney and they were all perfectly fine but let’s not pretend that giving animals sleeping pills isn’t blatant cruelty. 😒
@Aashbard01

I have the same thoughts, Sid was being abusive and Edgar's motivations are extremely petty and his actions are heinous crimes, because Cats can't consume human medicine and no one should consume an entire bottle of sleeping pills. Completely on your side on disagreeing with those choices. Evelyn nearly killed all of the superheroes and many innocent civilians. Look I love Msmojo, but they certainly got some of them wrong🧐😒
