I don't understand. Castle & Becket make the list, but Lisbon & Jane of The Mentalist don't? So much better written & acted. Once they get together it feels so natural, real, & intimate that I'll catch myself looking away to give them privacy. On top of that the show didn't obnoxiously tease it out. There isn't a will-they-won't-they for most of the show. Some people around them speculate, but it's platonic for a long time, until there is reason for a change & they are both ready. So good.

In my opinion Shawn and Jules from Psych are pretty awesome. Even though they would flirt a lot it took 5 whole seasons of them being friends and each having different relationships for them to get together. The thing that makes them work though is that they're awesome as friends and a couple because Shawn supports Jules and embraces her for the strong, smart and independent person she is and Jules embraces Shawn for the fun and caring person he is and is patient when it comes to him maturing in the relationship. They might have had a break up but over time they worked through it. They always are patient with one another and they go from friends to being married still working together side by side.

You missed one show, from long ago, that was one big setup: "Occasional Wife". This was a story of an executive joining a company that made marriage a requirement for advancement, and said executive a confirmed bachelor. He meets a single lady bartender, who wore a wedding band to keep the wolves at bay. The result was that the up-and-comer would present her as his wife...occasionaly...and otherwise stay single. The series explored how the two of them pull off the masquerade. At the close of the series, well, you know.
