every scene is beautifully rendered, but the one that was the most spectacular is the parting of the Red Sea. The characters' designs also received a lot of detail. Helen Mirren (who voiced Queen Tuya) said in the DVD commentary that she was hesitant at first to do an animated movie, but she was seduced by the sheer beauty of the film's version of the Egyptian Queen

I was in the theater the first day this film was released. I was around 14 at the time. It was the first time I had gone to see a animated feature that was not owned by Disney that had the theater packed with people. I remember that weekend nearly every showing of the Prince of Egypt at the local AMC near my house sold out. I happen to go to an evening showing full of parents and kids of various backgrounds. Though I couldn't help but notice there were a lot of middle Eastern individuals at our particular showing. The film apparently heavily resonated with a lot of the Jewish and middle Eastern individuals that lived in our particular community. I also still remember the moment that the Red Sea parted. It was as if the theater suddenly screamed to life. everyone in the entire theater stood up and started screaming and cheering at the top of their lungs. As a child I had never experienced that level of pandemonium from a movie audience. I think it was that moment, that made me really fall in love with the idea of visual cinema. ❤️🎥

I watched it all the time as a kid, but there was something that bothered me about it for the longest time. It wasn't until I was older and heard the phrase/trope called "liar reveal" that I realized why I didn't like the movie so much. The plot hinged so much on Flik's big lie that the huge climax was centered on that lie being discovered and Flik being banished when he and the circus bugs were needed the most.

Yay! I've heard so many people dunk on it for not being another Prince of Egypt, but they really do a great job of faithfully telling the story and the visuals and music are all up to standard. It's simply the scale that was different. Few events in the Bible are as grand scale as the Exodus. They would have had to do something like Creation or the Flood or Christ's death and resurrection to reach that par again. But instead they went the prequel route and people were disappointed.

My favorite underappreciated animated movies: •Ferdinand. This movie has a timeless message that you shouldn't follow stereotypes, and that true courage is being the way you are no matter what anybody says about you. My heart warms every time I see this masterpiece. •The Great Mouse Detective. A non-standard Disney movie that once saved the studio. I really love a pinch of dark atmosphere in this movie, and Professor Ratigan is such a charismatic and interesting villain that he will probably forever be my favorite one. •Pocahontas. I really do not understand those who call this movie boring and condemn the main character. I really liked this story, showing the whole pointlessness of war and racism, as well as what miracles love can do and what positive ways it can change people. I also really love the art and animation of "Pocahontas", I think it's the best Disney 2D movie in that regard. Also, I don't understand why people criticize the movie for being historically inaccurate. It was never positioned as a film on which to study history. This is an ordinary fictional story based on reality, this does not oblige him to directly repeat the real story.

When I was really young (4-6 years old), I watched Prince of Egypt so many times and fell in love with it. Although one time I was watching it by myself in our living room which had a glass door to the balcony, I got scared at the part where the all the first born children died by the representation of the Angel of Death. I was so scared because it was at night and I thought that was going to happen to me lmfao 😂✋

A Bug’s Life is a particular entry here. As I keep reading, this is that one Pixar film tossed aside while every new release gets the next big attention and further media. All it had outside of the release was a video game and that attraction at Disneyland which is now gone. It’s a Sophomore Slump that really shouldn’t be disregarded. And honestly Atlantis really shouldn’t have been disregarded the way it was, same with Treasure Planet.

This list is literally my childhood Spirit is so underrated it’s soundtrack is epic and was trying to say it’s opening song was too epic in one of your recent videos but my mind blanked. Mom was a horse lady so I grew up on it and I also appreciate its portrayal of natives as someone who has a bit of native ancestry as well as family members who escorted the trial of tears, yeah awkward family history Prince of Egypt, church classic but still great otherwise Megamind is one of my favorite nondisney movies(a list that continues to shrink) Emperors new groove is so legendary lol Meet the robinsons. My favorite underrated animated movie (which sadly isn’t on this list) is Disney’s Meet The Robinsons…The reason why I like this movie is because it has a great message about not giving up, it has a great quote (which is also one of my favorites-“Keep Moving Forward”), and the whole premise about time travel and what the future could be like and the story about Lewis finding his family is really moving as well! Also the movie has many great characters and funny lines!

Even the Honorable Mentions are timeless gems. So many beautiful animated films that we all grew up on. It feels great to talk about these kind of movies with you guys; I know we have opinions on some films like these, but it's nevertheless a nice feeling to talk about it. It feels that some of the best came from DreamWorks, though Fox, Disney, and Warner Bros. had some good hits. And as cool as it would be to see a live-action remake of these beautiful films, you have to agree the original animated films are the best.
