We all love Fairy Godmother's take on Holding Out For A Hero, but can we also talk about her Introduction song? It starts out whimsical and cheery, like you would expect from Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, but as it goes along, it gets more intense, aggressive, and suggestive, making things clear that something is off with this Fairy Godmother and she's not like others before her.

How Bad I can Be used to be a song called Biggering, which instead of the Onceler being naive about what he's doing, he fully embraces the business-hell hole where you can see him slowly devolve where the line "Who cares if some trees are dying?" was originally "who cares if some things are dying?". Unfortunately it was cut because it was "too dark for kids" but the most likely reason was it was because Illuminations is also a big business and you can only go so far when your movie that call out big businesses gets reviewed and approved by a big business.

Villains often at times get the greatest songs in animated films. Poor Unfortunate Souls, In the Dark of the Night, Hellfire, and Be Prepared (the best one imo)are my top favorites from this list!

Personally, I would switch Be Prepared and Hellfire. They’re both good, but Hellfire has no equal competition. Hellfire is by far the most sinister and haunting music for a Disney movie out there. It conjures themes none thought Disney could’ve pulled off.

How Bad Can I Be is such an incredible song. That whole scene is probably the best representation of corruption I've ever seen. It's done in a super short amount of time, has a crazy catchy tune, and shows the Onceler's entire downward spiral from being a good guy to a full on villain in literally ONE SONG. IMO, it's on par with the beginning of Up in terms of storytelling and message. It's fantastic.

Biggering is a better song but it's way too remorseful. HBCIB does a much better job of portraying how easy it is to turn this horrible concept into something catchy and marketable hence better storytelling. I remember someone described Biggering as a harrowing struggle and HBCIB as a massacre of nature followed by a selfie with the corpse

the thing that suprises me the most is that biggering isn't on this list but how bad can i be is. biggering was the origional version of how bad can i be. and in my opinion its WAY better then most of the songs on this list. and biggering is my favorite villian song of all time... screw love is an open door, run from mother knows best, PASS ON HOW BAD CAN I BE, biggering is probably my favorite, and i very much recomend listening to it...it summerizes the true onceler.

Not a lot of people know that "how bad can I be" was supposed to actually be a song called "biggering" which is a much better villain song for the oncler/greedler, but they changed it saying that biggering was way to real and dark. That just truly shows what they're priority's were when making the Lorax movie. If they wanted to villainize greedy industries, they should have went with biggering to really set a point, not act like it would victimize "Innocent" large greedy companys.

Simba's Pride had several treats in it. Zira's song "My Lullaby" is definitely a great one (that I was pleasantly surprised to see here), but her actress Suzanne Plechette was outstanding as a villain set with the single-minded purpose of revenge and absolute power. It's one of the few sequels that stands well, in my opinion.

I actually like both versions. I actually read another comment from a different video that said they maybe both songs could’ve been together as one song. And I kind of like that idea. Like “How Bad Can I Possibly Be” to start as lightly dark, but as the song played on it turns into “Biggering,” which go a lot more darker. (Especially since that is the reason why it got cut from the movie, being a little too dark.)

Yeah it's a brilliant idea. "How bad can I be" should be the start of the once ler just doing this what he is as a way of survival, but then even after he's made a life worth living, he still wants more and continues to do so not cause of greed, but because of pride. It stopped becoming about survival and for him to make it as big as possible ignoring all those he's affecting and that's what leads into "biggering"

I will be honest, there is something about the song “Savages” that is soooo strong and powerful, not just by the lyrics, but what is happening in the movie as well, it is just so intense. At least that’s what I feel about this song when I hear it.

For me it's the message, it shows how we should always try to see through the eyes of those different from us, regardless if it's race, religion, nationality, ethnicity or anything else (minus a few bad things). This is just as important today. It took me a bit to realize I don't have to accept something to respect it, like an opinion/view/way different from my own. If it didn't match my own then clearly that person was wrong, a monster, a savage, when in reality they were just another human with a different way of thinking. Politics are another good one for this topic. Sorry, for the longish reply, I just really love this scene & all it represents, both presently and historically.

Mother Knows Best did hit me, it was pure emotional manipulation and because it was so realistic that way it hit hard. Planning to kill the king and take over is a thing from stories or rare cases in history, but millions of people have horrible parents who emotionally manipulate them every day. Hellfire also hit hard because of how realistic the type of evil it portrayed was. I've never watched the one with Odette, but when I heard that part I thought it sounded like Tim Curry, it sounded so much like his songs from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

*Fun fact:* _How bad can I be_ was just a replacement song, because the original song called *Biggering* was considered too “dark” for a kids movie. If Biggering had been in here I can tell you it would easily be the number 2 or even the 1. For me the only villain song that is *Hellfire* level.

The deleted song from The Lorax "Biggering" is way much darker and much better villain song than "How Bad Can I Be?". To those who don't know, "Biggering" was meant to be the original villain song to The Lorax that the Onceler sang. But the studio executives thought it was too dark for a children's movie that it had to be rewritten and recomposed, which turned out to become "How Bad Can I Be?". If you haven't listened to "Biggering", I really suggest you do so!

Actually I don’t think it was because it was too dark, it was because it was too real about corporate businesses and they didn’t want people thinking that about their company so they changed it to something that makes companies look ignorant to some of the damage they cause (how bad can I be)

I love the little backing in Hellfire of the choir. As frollo sings 'it's not my fault' and 'I'm not to blame' they chant Mea Culpa which is literally 'my fault' in Latin, just reinforcing the fact that frollo is the wicked one and the villain. It's such an excellently written song and movie. It used to scare me as a kid but as an adult and having read the original story itself from victor hugo I greatly appreciate the darkness of the movie and definitely respect that old Disney wasnt afraid to tackle these twisted, deep themes and make a dark movie. Nowadays if they tried that they would probably get smacked with cancel culture which is a shame

Something else about the description in the video got me... that chorus in Hellfire is anything but hellish. It's basically Frollo's conscience personified telling him he's wrong. And to think, the Disney adaptation of Hunchback is quite a bit brighter than the book. ;)

Honestly I love "Savages" because it actually illustrates war surprisingly well. It starts with the only one who would gain something (Governor Radcliffe) singing but he then convinces others to fight with him. The Powatan joining in is a good choice to show that even with an actual villian starting wars, too often is the other side able to become the bad guys by participating in the war just as eagerly.

I have to say I think “Poor Unfortunate Souls” is the best villain song in any movie animated or not. You get all the sinister undertones and you can tell Ursula is having so much fun at the same time. I could watch this song’s sequence in the movie all day!

The first movie I ever saw in theatres was Anastasia I was very young and not at all ready for Rasputins song. I apparently started crying and we had to leave. It’s still haunting. I personally believe hellfire is the best villain song.

I recently heard the French version of Hellfire and it's basically Hellfire taken up to 11 and Frollo's lyrics there actually made me more uncomfortable than the English version, I urge everyone to at least listen to it at least once.
