@@madisonlewe1057 The original actor who was supposed to play the Tin Man was Buddy Ebsen. When they put aluminum dust on his face, it got in the air and he was breathing thst stuff in, until one night, he got an asthma attack which sent him to the hospital and he had to be casted out of the film and no questions asked. His replacement was actor Jack Haley, who of course would star famously as the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz. And for Jack, the face makeup was changed to aluminum paste. But yes, poor Ebsen and how he went through that and survived it miraculously. :( Sorry to everybody if this comment is off topic from this video. :)

Say what you will about Tim Burton’s take on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” At least he did’t butcher the original title in order to sell low-quality chocolate to impressionable children. Plus, Burton’s directorial style was more-or-less in line with the original tone of the book.

3:40 Look at Julie's left knee and you'll see the bloodstains from when she injured herself. One more bit of Veruca Salt trivia: her "departure" was filmed the day the actress turned 13. She was given one of the golden eggs as a present, and kept it for decades until it disintegrated. She was also supposed to return her everlasting gobstopper, but, you guessed it, she kept that as well :-) Hey, I had one of those "candy factory" kits, they came with plastic molds and a bunch of Wonka wrappers. You were supposed to pour some chocolate chips into a baggie, put it in boiling water until they melted, then cut the tip off the baggie and squeeze the chocolate into the molds. They had molds of Wonka bars and for various holidays. Anyone else have one?

Fun Fact: In the original Roald Dahl book, the Oompa Loompas were playful, happy, and energetic creatures with blonde hair and wore tribal animal skins. But as anyone who saw the 1971 film will tell you, they act dull, depressed, and soft spoken.
