I have great respect for Republicans like John Kasich and Adam Kinzinger who put our country before party, and never joined the cult. They lost me when magats denigrated and dishonored John McCain, a great man who loved his country above politics! If you want to watch a REAL republican behaving honorably and proving his love for our country, watch McCain's concession speech to his supporters right after he lost his bid to become President to Obama. The crowd starts booing when he mentions Obama, but he stops them and explains that Obama won fairly, and has the integrity and skills to be a great president who deserves our respect. Other times, he spoke favorably about the good job Obama was doing as leader. McCain and Biden weren't just colleagues, they were very close friends! THAT'S what I want to bring back to make our country great, true bipartisanship. Lincoln paraphrased a Biblical quote when he said; "A house divided against itself, cannot stand." My dad was Republican, my mom was a Democrat, and they had a marriage built on respect and love for more than 40 years. I voted Independent up until 2016, and voted for candidates based on who was best suited for the job. I even voted 3rd party when I voted for Ross Perot back in the 1990s. One side of family are republicans and about 80% of them see no issue with MAGA even if they may not be fully Trump brainwashed. The rest of them are McCain republicans and are shocked with how their party is just non existent now. Trying to get them to see their way over to voting for Dems on a national ticket. Many republicans are unhappy and uncomfortable with the party but won’t make that final leap. This is how autocracy begins, not being hyperbolic.

Just saying that, with the SCOTUS' new ruling on presidential immunity, removing corrupt justices would be an "official act." Dictating an ethical code to the SCOTUS would be an "official act." Making the protections that were in Rowe v. Wade federal law via executive order would be an "official act." Placing four new justices on SCOTUS would be an "official act."
