In either case he would have broken the law and then be lawfully processed. Regardless of whether he would be pardoned or imprisoned, he would not be above the law. It’s part of the law that the you may be pardoned by the president (or imprisoned) as a consequence of breaking the law. People seem to think Biden meant that “no one who breaks the law goes unpunished” but I think he meant “no one who breaks the law avoids being processed according to the law”. I don’t know why I’m debating this specific topic with randos on the internet, but it’s interesting. I’m wondering if you can share more of your thoughts. I just see a lot of emotional knee-jerk reactions.

@ I imagine it takes a lot more effort to pretzel your brain into not seeing the corruption. However, I was wrong in believing he was not pardoning elites. Turns out he commuted the sentences of an official who stole $52 million plus from her town and the judge that was taking cash to send kids to private juvenile detention centers where some kids ended up taking their own lives.

If these people deserved to be freed, why wait until the last minute to do this? Only reason is to cause problems for the next administration.
