@@cubic-h6041 I qualify for Medicaid and make about $52k a year, income-tax free - despite qualifying for all needed care - including dental - from the VA. That income puts me way over the poverty line and if you increase my income to include income taxes, I am not that far from average. So, vets use Medicaid. It is a vital program for the disabled, regardless of income in some cases. I know people with special needs kids and adult children who are on Medicaid despite their parents making 6 figures. It is critical for people in nursing homes, although Medicaid will bleed all of your assets first unless you put your assets in a trust. I helped my mom do that with the help of a lawyer so she won't lose the house and investments my father worked all his life for. More than half of the pregnancies in the US are covered by Medicaid. The "pro-life" party will be happy to stop that. Perhaps, you don't have the first clue what Medicaid is and does. In most ways, it is significantly better than Medicare.

I have Parkinson’s and if project 2025 has there way and cuts Medicare I don’t know how I will live. I would not be hired to work at most any place and I would not be able to afford my doctor care as I see at least 2 different doctors a month let alone all the meds I take to help me just be here. Heres something to think about...why do you think there are so many people on medicaid right now??? Could it be that no one can AFFORD healthcare? Ever heard of inflation? People can barely afford the basics (food, housing, gas), much less healthcare. Cost of living increases, but pay rates stay the same. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of non-citizens receiving free healthcare as soon as they come into this country. Insurance companies and Big Pharma run our healthcare system. Ever seen how much one dose of chemo costs? Or the price of a bandaid from a hospital? Providers are even limited on what they can prescribe patients because of insurance. If insurance won't cover it or only covers a portion of it, then the patient has to pay for it. Most people can't afford aford to do that. If a patient doesn't have any insurance at all and has an emergency or other health crisis, they end up with bills they may never be able to pay off. Some even have to file bankruptcy. The MSM doesn't want to discuss any of that.

I pulled up project 2025 and right away in the text I read that it is a compilation of ideas from different authors.... and they don't all agree on the content of others sections of the document. I'm a conservative, and saw things I didn't agree with. Trump did the same. So I wouldn't make too much of it at this point. There are countless think tanks publishing various ideas. Unlike the left, the right do not all think alike. It's a fundamental difference between the two philosophies. A core belief of the right is independence, and this is in thought as well as deed. If that goes into law I'll be dead. I'm disabled in a wheelchair and on Medicaid. I'm on a lot of prescriptions that I couldn't afford without my insurance. I was disabled at 25 yrs old. Before that I was a stay at home mom before my husband died when I was 24 years old. I was a waitress most of my working years so with getting paid a couple dollars an hr I didn't get to put much into the system. That forced me into the SSI category instead of SSDI so I don't qualify to get Medicare. Sadly I'm not the only one who lose their lives if project 2025 goes into law. @@user-dg6ju3en6p Probably not. He would be on disability. Even as it stands low there are different rules for people on retirement, disability, ssdi, and probably a few other categories. Not that I would put it past republicans to kick a paralyzed person out on the streets with nothing.

Yeah, maybe they will eventually get around to the part in the project that eliminates the marriage tax, or the part that doubles the child tax credit for two parent homes, or the part that incentivizes small businesses in urban neighborhoods. There is a lot I would like to see MSNBC cover in this project.

@@leifanderson3487 There isn't anything in there that I have read about "ending democracy". There is a whole section about securing the rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights to make sure the federal government can never touch them again. But, hey, why would Democrats want things like rights when they have a talking point like "end democracy", right?
