That's not true. They told the prosecutors in that case that they wrongly charged the man with bribery when the crime he really committed was a gratuity. While similar in effect, these are two different legal crimes that cannot be interchangeably used. Bribery is paying someone up front for a political favor, while gratuity is doing someone a political favor for future profit. If the Court hadn't overturned that case, it would have severely messed up case law for future cases. The prosecutors are free to go back and bring the correct charges this time.

The supreme court needs term limits, and a mandatory code of ethics and clear guidelines to impeach misconduct we have seen from several of the justices (such as accepting bribes, Clarence). We don't owe them our trust. They owe us a new set of standards to earn the trust they have absolutely squandered. If this court can't earn that trust, then new justices should be appointed.

Problem is without a clear dem.majority in the house and senate and Biden firmly back in the ovals the current Supremes can keep all of that at bay on appeal and make this ruling to go into effect in 2029 after a Biden term would be over. No one is sure if it's immediate or just if trump wins in that case no laws can be passed at all because they will all go to appeal at the supreme court then bounced back to states thus creating countries within.
