He *was* convicted in May of this year. He just wasn't sentenced. This was a big trial and the prosecutor wanted to get everything right, gather all the evidence and all the witnesses in order to get convictions. That takes time. I swear too many people watch justice shows and really believe a crime can be committed, the perpetrator arrested, all the evidence collected, all the witnesses interviewed everyone subpoenaed, the trial held, the jury deliberates, comes to a verdict, and the judge sentences the convicted person sentenced all in an hour (minus the commercials) or an hour and a half (if it's a movie in a theater). All that takes a lot of time and often cases have to wait until all the other cases filed before that case have been through the trial process and that one particular trial can start.
