I am an American that has been living in Europe (Western) for the last 7 years, and just let me say; make NO mistake, the US is far from civilized society, in spite of all they have been telling us daily for decades.

True, we’ve been brainwashed starting in kindergarten and thru high school. Now decades later my brain has been cleansed as I learn about Native American genocide, slavery and continued black oppression, countless millions killed and displaced in failed futile lie infested wars. The plundering of middle class wealth with billionaire extraction of resources which would benefit the people. Scandinavia is a stark contrast, Germany and other countries as well. Yes, especially for families with young children emigration should be a consideration. I fear we are headed for a fascist downfall.

I've always said that in spite of all that crap they hand us ,that this isn't fooling anyone around the world! This country was built on racism and nothing can happen until we're ready to admit it and deal with it but the right is doing their damnedest to prevent that from ever happening they are The Reincarnation of the Nazis and the KKK rolled into one!

The concept is so simple it is ridiculous : "divide and conquer" was a strategy perfected by Roman Legions 18 centuries ago! Keep the peasants at each others throats and the noble lords and conquerors can march on with relative ease. Even our best minds of today fail to comprehend that simple strategy - or acknowledge it.

I recently read an interesting comparison of Angela Merkel's 16-year "conservative" government to our own American "liberal democracy". The contrast is stark, and eye-openingly different. I encourage all to make the comparison.Germany today (as do many European nations) genuinely cares for the well-being of the entire populace because they understand the simple axiom that "a rising tide lifts all boats". America is the equivalent of a sinking ship where the first-class male passengers are piling into the life boats, leaving the women and children behind. Continuing with that analogy, the poor souls in steerage are completely unaware that the ship is sinking.

Yes, Germany deserves praise NOW but let's please never, ever forget what they were responsible for in the last century. Not one, but two world wars which killed millions of people and literally destroyed Germany itself. Can we please remember that and never, ever gloss it over? And, apparently, no one remembers the Marshall Plan. For those who do not know what that was, look it up.

@@Clusterboy White America lived in a fantasy world in the 50s. After the Kennedys and King were killed the bill came due. I might also remind you that she was not even born at that time and to say that nothing happened in the sixties as far as civil rights were concerned is just plain ignorant. Whatever happened afterward was due to the undoing by Ronald Reagan who opened his campaign one of the most notoriously bigoted colleges in the south talking about" welfare queens", etc. I remember how much the narrative was changed towards civil rights by rational citizens at that turbulent time partly because people saw what actually happened in the red States those protests when the police sick dogs on them hit them with hoses,ect and NOW we've even surpassed that, and the maniacs on the right are trying their damnedest to bring us back to the FIRST half of the 20th century! But just like Trump, Reagan opened that door again THAT was the beginning of the new Jim Crow.

The DoJ has 3 times its normal workload. There’s all the usual stuff, there’s the investigation and consequent prosecutions of the 1/6 insurrectionists which is the largest criminal case in US history, and clearing itself and helping other departments clear themselves of trump boobytraps in the form of unqualified but seditious appointees so it can also investigate and prosecute members of that corrupt administration and their criminal associates. I wish they could speed all of it up but they didn’t get 3 times the resources.

Decency, empathy or Democracy are among human mind's "leisures". This would prove it can't be every day's normality. Only at a strict personal level can that stay. Besides, that "leisure" irradiates on everybody like a blessing, so really if a rough someone enjoyed it or "accepted" to see blessed people around, it can't be a long lasting effect.

Race is a second-order issue, though certainly a real issue that we must address in tandem. It's class division and the control over conversations by the capitalist class that has driven all of these tensions, including that of white supremacy and its racism, to prevent the spirit of democracy and the political influence of the working class from reigning as the majority of the nation.
@mariag.8242

Check out the video on the Amanpour channel about who has been arrested for crimes on 1/6. It’s mostly upper middle class middle aged white men. The chief demographic factor they have in common is an increase in people of color in their area.
@Sapheiorus
@Sapheiorus 3 жыл бұрын
@@mariag.8242 I acknowledged that white supremacy is at work and racism exists in my statement. I'm saying that the origin of it all lies in the capitalist influences that brought about the sentiments of racial tension, and it is THAT we should target to address the problem most decisively. Your observation sees the factual cause and effect that shows the upper middle class white men were racist, but that doesn't explain WHY they were so violently racist, nor does it address HOW you fight it. The writers at the Jacobin magazine would tell you that the organization of all working people to counteract corporate power in this country will do far more to improve the conditions of the black community and bring greater inter-racial solidarity than to try making these angry white men check their privilege with "anti-racism training".
