I went thrifting today and one store had a fall display window. None of the items were for sale. Autumn wreaths, autumn colored clothing, leaf swags, agate beads, autumn theme framed prints...and they had some lovely brass easels for pictures.....all labeled NFS display only. They said the items displayed in the windows would not be sold until November. I kept picking up item after item marked “NFS display only.” The second thrift store I went to had several antique dress forms used to display accessories. All marked NFS I get so darn angry and frustrated every time I see something marked NFS

There are times when not for sale items are appropriate. I agree that the rug should not be there if not for sale, but display units?!?! Not for sale are ok. How can you display items if everything is for sale. Fixtures are a necessary when having a booth.

I don’t have not for sale items. What I do have is my own items I use to house the items for sale and they are made and bought especially for holding the treasures I sell. If I sell them they are not replaceable. Everything then sits on the floor and who wants to look at that? Not me. I do not see anything wrong in having shelving not for sale.

The basket is called a Buttocks Baskets, and you are correct they are actually strapped on the backs of horses. Very old design.
