You always telling us to check boxes at the thrift store paid off big for me today! Thank you!!! A box on a shelf above my head was full of brand new drawer pulls and cabinet knobs. We didn’t put hardware on our new build cabinetry when we moved in because the style we wanted was $6 a pull/ knob at Home Depot and we needed 80 pieces for our kitchen and 4 bathrooms! These are exactly what we wanted, there was more than enough in the box and it was very low cost.

Seeing those candy cane ornaments reminded me of when my nephew was small. They would come over to our house on Christmas Eve and I would hide candy cane ornaments around the house so he could have a hunt like an Easter egg hunt. He had so much fun. He's 32 now, and still remembers the candy cane hunts.

Crazy middles on You tube plants seeds in sugar Christmas Eve and they grow into candy canes for kids Christmas Day by using Santa’s fairy magic dust. Such cute tradition

I’m a retired decorative 0:15 painter and there are so many ways to age and distress the wooden socks. If you want to colorize them you can simply dilute paint color of your choice and use it like a water color stain allowing the wood grain to show through. Sometimes dry brushing with different shade values in a cross hatch texture and burnishing the edges with an umber color ages as well. Try a crackle medium too. It’s a clear gel like medium you brush on , let it dry then coat with a flat paint color and it cracked before your eyes as it dries. I’ve been known to do all of the above as I play around with the patina. Good luck and have fun! Even Bob Ross said you can make happy mistakes! Great finds today. Wished my daughter liked to thrift with me! She’s a modern minimalist!😮😂

Love your haul. You scored some good stuff. That glass candy dish that you are going to make a candle with is really old. I have my husband’s grandmother’s & she had it for a long time before we inherited it. She always had it with candy by her front door back when we were dating almost 40 years ago. Thanks for taking us thrifting

Enjoyed watching the video. The glass candy dish is very old, but it's original purpose was as an Avon talc powder dish. My grandmother gave one to me as a very young girl. Avon's scented talc came in round boxes at that time that would fit in that dish. I now use mine to hold small jewelry or trinkets on my vanity. Love the idea of making a into a candle holder.

As a primitive lover, pewter is one of my favorites as it was known as poor man’s silver. They look like pewter and great price! Love the candy canes and the three pencil Santa’s and the price, wow! You sure hit a great day❤

The lidded glass dish you plan to make a candle in is a vintage Avon Powder Dish with Lid; it came with powder and a powder puff. My Gran and my Mom kept theirs in the bathroom or on their dresser. I have my Mama’s and even though I don’t use powder much, it’s comforting to have it Great memory.

I would thin down some red paint with water and paint the stockings, rubbing 1/2 of it off so the natural wood colour comes through a bit.

I would leave the top of stocking black and mix a red with some water and paint like a wash and maybe put your names on them hang with red ribbon could look cute

Looking at the wooden stockings. Before doing anything to them, lay them down on paper and draw templates for future use. These are a great resource and save you from having to find when you need them. You can also scan the template and shrink or enlarge to any needed size. Great thrift haul!

The wooden stockings. My idea is to remove the cuff. Drill holes in them like the primitive sock stretchers. Paint them a primitive red. Prim decor and Christmas decor in one😊
