Thanks for this! I literally spent two hours online trying to find out what you summed up perfectly in 7 minutes.

Mitch Bloos thanks for watching! If you're considering the alpine pan also consider this version of the primus pan... kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2HdpKtnhd57jcU

Thank you, very helpful. I’ve been trying to figure that out from the posted dimensions all morning, then I saw your post.

This is literally the best cooking kit video I have ever seen, and I have been watching these for years. I would love to see this kind of relational fitting comparison with the steal teapot too. If I buy the set I want from amazon I am coming to you.

Yes the MSR Stainless kettle fits inside the stainless 2 pot kit. The pot grabber goes inside the kettle(wrap in paper towel to keep from rattling) and the fry pan handle goes on top of the kettle. There is still room in the stuff sac for 2 or more MSR stainless plates nested on top of the pot lid. I am still trying to figure out if the MSR "Heat Exchanger" will still nest within the kit... There just may be enough space around the outside of the kettle inside the 1.5L pot. If not I will leave out the kettle as I am interested in playing around with that MSR heat exchanger. You can see the kettle packed within the 2 pot kit in my "Craigslist Camping Gear" video I uploaded last winter.

Hey Paul, another excellent gear video. That was very helpful. I think that if it weren’t for you and I, they’d probably stop selling Arno straps lol

Use the Lid of the 1.6 Pot as a Fry pan you can Clip Fish mouth Spreader in the lids Handle and it works pretty well.

I allready had a bio wood stove... Aaand i ordered the 1.6 and 775 ml msr stowaway pot. My conclusion: solid product, worth the money...

Have you tried frying in the base of the alpine stowaway 1.6L pot?

Thank you, i was considering buying a msr fry pan and 1.6 L pot. I am going for it :)
@b.78158 жыл бұрын
+miagy420 What you can do is also considering buying a wood stove, like the "anself" solo stoves on amazon or ebay. They fit perfectly inside the 1,6l pot! So you have a 1,6l pot, a fry pan AND a wood stove. ;-)

Looks like the fry pan fits inside the 3L pot of the Alpine 4 set. Will the rest of the pots of the Alpine 4 still fit inside with the fry pan added?
@Thereal111t6 жыл бұрын
Joshua Liu yes it does.

Will the MSR Alpine 2 lid fit on the MSR Alpine fry pan?
@jonny98845 жыл бұрын
No. It's not completely flush with the pan, but not wide enough to fit on top of the pan that way, nor is it narrow enough to rest snuggly just inside the Alpine Fry Pan either.

Could you show how the Alpine 2 and 4 lids fit on the fry pan?
@Thereal111t6 жыл бұрын
Joshua Liu I will have to check but my guess is no... the two liter lid may fit but without a handle.
@1pollock4053 жыл бұрын
I use the Alpine plate as a lid for the frying pan. It is a proper size for it but it just rests on top of it. It also nests nicely underneath the frying pan in storage.

Thanks for the video. Very informative. One question though, I would like to know where I can get one of those straps that you were using? They look very good quality. Thanks in advance!
@Thereal111t6 жыл бұрын
Chronic Wheeze they are known as ‘Arno’ straps. In the US at least they are sold under the couglans brand. Coghlan's Arno Straps, 24-Inch, 2 pack www.amazon.com/dp/B00380JNNO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MM9iBbJRNYJBY

Chronic Wheeze the 24” is adequate for this application.

I like this pot because it has a longer handle but the pathfinder one is cheaper. I wonder which one to choose?
@michaelrutledge70485 жыл бұрын
Luis Lee I feel the MSR Alpine line is a higher quality product. I haven’t had good luck with Pathfinder.

thanks for this. do you have the Alpine Bowls and/or plates? would be interested to know they nest as well
@sirvidia7 жыл бұрын
Also, what are you using for a lid on the smaller Alpine pot? thanks
@Thereal111t7 жыл бұрын
sirvidia actually I use gsi plates for car camping. They don't nest in the Alpine 4 but they sit nicely on top in storage. They're nice but possibly a tad pricey. I might consider these Swedish surplus plates... colemans.com/shop/camping-gear/food-cooking/swedish-military-stainless-steel-plate-6-pack/ The alpine 4 lids make descent plates. As far as the pot lids... the alpine two lid fits both pots by way of the 'steps' in the lid top. The alpine 4 has a dedicated lit for each of the three pots.

You could fry 30 pounds of bacon in it! But not at the same time. Just like there is absolutely zero chance you can fry a pound of bacon in it at the same time.
@whynottalklikeapirat3 жыл бұрын
YOu don't want to jam stuff into your frying pan regardless of the fit, unless you can put some sort of fabric between it WILL wiggle a bit and cause scratches and abrasion
