Use some "Bar Keepers Friend" to clean off the scorch marks. Works great. Will restore to nearly new. Lots of places carry it. Walmart, Target,.....

use the Barkeeper's Friend in the silver-colored container. It's made for cookware. The copper-colored container is for cleaning surfaces.

Can this be used with coal? I'm thinking of using this as a make-shift dutch oven for baking out in the field.

Michael Biltz it’s thin Stainless. If you’re not heating it empty you’ll be fine

I just ordered this set and plan on also using it as a dutch oven. Cast iron is too heavy! Have you done any baking with your set and, if so, how did it work for you?

used the version 1 for years. yes it fits a whisperlite just fine. Yes it is heavy. And yes it's great for large backpacking groups. I'm sad i loaned out my whisperlite and it disappeared.

Great cook set, I really like stainless. The high powered MSR stoves heat the aluminum coated stoves & you get frequent sets quickly losing their non-stick surface.

It looks like the lid/fry pan is not flat? Seems like cooking things like eggs etc would need a flat pan?

MSR makes a proper stainless steel fry pan that nests with this set.

Nice winter cook set! Did you know you can season SS similar to cast iron for your own non stick coating!! I recently bought 2 different cook sets that are Hard anodized with a none stick coating. going to find out how long it last...:) Take care buddy!

Does anyone know whether these are induction compatible - stainless steel usually is but I get the feeling the base needs to be flat to make full contact with the stove top?

My brother bought this for me for Christmas this year. I'm trying to figure out a way to hang the pots. Any suggestions? I've thought of bending coat hangers around it or something else.

just off the top of my head i would link 3 or 4 hose clamps, (the kind you would use on a radiator hose) around the lip and then use small cable to hang it. you would have to play around with it.

if you want to use the pot you could do 3. two out of the pots and one out off the lid. if you had your own bowls you could make a lot of food.
