Thanks! Not many videos showing the gear shed. I haven't had time to try my tent yet so it was quite helpfulö that you did this video. Happy camping!

Looks like the gear shed could be useful for sleeping arrangements with the dogs.

Wow this gear shed looks like a must have! Thanks for sharing this, I may have to get one for my Hubba hubba. -Andy

Thanks for posting. I have this tent and have found it plenty big enough for me and my Black Labrador. The tent is pretty light, 1.6Kg including the groundsheet. I can't honestly see what use the gear shed would be. I noticed you having a lot of trouble with the MSR pegs, I swapped mine out for AlpKit Candy Canes, loads better. Anyway, thanks for posting this.

Dougie Ranger I only use the gear shed when car camping with the wife. As for the MSR ground hog stakes. they are the best I have ever used. I just did not want to pound them in too deep just for the video.

I would use gear shed to store my motorbike gear in when I am at the TT

On the contrary I find it really useful when I’m stuck with rain for a day or so. A lot safer to cook in than under the tent fly for a start. You say you shouldn’t cook in a tent? I’m not going to starve or drink cold water for days on end.

After setting the hubba with the gear shed up, will it still be able to withhold strong winds?
@robalan573 жыл бұрын
Does it do well in the rain? I would guess you could put two on the tent and have a super large shelter.

I haven't had any issues with rain 9r snow while using it.

Thanks great tutorial. Have watched 3 times. Setting up my tent and shed going well. My gear shed; I found one unattached guy rope in the peg bag. Where does it attach? I’m guessing top loop in centre of pole sleeve.

Any problems with rain? Specially in the lower parts where the shed connects to the tent? Great video thats EXACTLY what I need to see! Tks.

+360 Motorcycle Adventures no issues at all. It has been a great tent and sheds rain very well. Would buy again in a heart beat.

Does the rain run back off the extension into the main tent ?

If only a company could implement that design so that a generic tent could add that onto it

a fan of the tent, gear loft and pup / supervisor or camp site patrol sentry Thanks for the efforts. Prefer at least a few other color options... granted a minor detail. Still using this set up? Do you have a modified ground cloth inside the other portion of gear loft? Is there an ability to run a clothes drying line in the gear loft? Ever cook just inside entrance to gear loft ie coffee, tea.. rehydration..? Any issues with tent? How tight for two? Thanks again- . . .

yep, still using this tent and still love it. only option i wish they had is CF poles to drop the weight down a bit. I cook in the tent all the time and boil water for FD meals. No issues with excess condensation. The tent is good for two as long as you don't mind touching the other person. spouse or really good friend. The vestibules are great as you don't have to crawl over one another to get in and out. plus room for boots and gear.

what i'd do is have a tarp under it all also to have a dry floor and less moisture on the bottom of the tent..

Your cute dog being whistled and the tapping of the hammer was mesmerising 🔨 😌 Is that the USA / Canada - I was imagining a bear coming from nowhere. Are there any roaming around there 😁 ? Great video. I’ve just bought a hubba hubba and the gear shed today off the back of the great vid 👍

The first clip of the gear shed to the cross piece goes on BEFORE the clip from the tent for best tension.

is bending on cross pole ok? I immediately noticed one after first assembly at home (inside!).

***** I'm not sure I understand what you mean? I haven't had any issues with the poles at all. I've used the tent over 100 days now with zero issues.

In the video there top pole (that crosses main one to the sides) has an arc shape (before you attach inner tent to it). It' supposed to be?
@shuswapoutdoors9 жыл бұрын
***** I see what you mean now, thanks, When the tent was new the pole was straight. After setting it up the first time it stayed bowed a bit. It has not changed or affected the function of the tent at all. I even contacted MSR about it and they informed me this was normal and would not cause any issues.
@johnnydarcy9 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Same with mine. None of my previous tents had this so I was worried maybe I set it up incorrectly and so on.

Just be sure the top pole goes over the main pole... My first mistake and it does make a difference to the tension on the tent... :-)

How is this set up during high winds or driving rain? Could the wind or rain get inside the lower area of the main tent that joins to the shed, and into your sleeping area?
@shuswapoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
It has been fantastic with no issues with rain, wind, and snow.
