If you check the user manual, there is a description on how to fit the burner and a canister in the 1 liter pot. Whether I carry the 1 liter or the 1.7 liter pot, I always carry the canister with the burner inside the pot. The canister for the 1 liter pot is of course smaller than the canister for the 1.7 liter pot.

I love my reactor. When it’s cold and won’t start, make sure to light it where one of the larger holes in the grate is and hold your thumbs over the vents on either side of the valve until it glows.

MSR do a folding stainless steel gas cylinder support legs, and better still, they do the low down, which is a remote option with fold out legs and a gas line, so it’s really low and stable👌🏼

Can you start this stove with a Ferro Rod and striker?
@ryantilley9063

You could, it may just take a bunch of strikes. Also if you're in a little bit of a windy environment it would probably be pretty impossible.

Do you think a 1.0 liter Reactor would work snow melting for 2 people on a Rainier climb? Or would the 1.7 liter be better?
@crephcrafterlp4899
@crephcrafterlp4899 Жыл бұрын
Go for the 1.7 liter! Snow is much less dense then water so you will have to top up the snow many times when melting. I use a 1.5 liter pot when I’m on solo alpine trips for snow melting.

@@crephcrafterlp4899 I agree, although I have been considering getting a 1L pot to reduce the bulk, the 1.7L takes up a decent amount of room.

Hey Ryan. What is the wire loop opposite the valve for? Did you add that?
@p.richter9592
@p.richter9592 Жыл бұрын
The wire comes with the Reactor. I cut the wire off on mine, as it’s just in the way.

@@p.richter9592 Ah, OK. I don't remember if mine had that or not. I was just wondering if it was purposeful. Thank you!

@@gilbertmedina1837 In my opinion, it had no use, so I got rid of it.
