Having my mom wake me up as an adult if I’m ever in town fills me with such a primal rage I never knew I had

lol Reminded me of my mom every single school day - 'Rise and shine!' Then military mornings taught me how nice mom was about waking us up. Two drill sergeants hitting our steel frame bunks with steel pipes shouting, 'You better move,di**heads! You better move!' Life is really something.

@@studleydewrite2942 lol yea for me it was Navy. Waking up with general quarters alarms blaring, hating life

Your mom's loved ya. Try having a mom that teaches how-to use an alarm clock at age 5, and never once wakes you up.

Both of my parents have passed away and 90% of the time I’m sad when I think about it, BUT when I hear stories like these from people who still have parents, I realize it wasn’t always sunshine and roses around them. I still miss ‘em, flaws and all.

Aye. That about sums it up. I get a wee bit of consolation by recognising they are literally with me because I'm made out of them & mentally forged by them; flaws & all.

"we didnt think you'd be up before noon" Yes, me, the guy who starts work at 6am everyday and was up at 5:30 while on vacation. Nothing is more irritating than realizing you're awake at 5:30 on vacation, and then your parents hit you with one of those 1 liners.

I turned into a psycho in like 7th grade. I got tired of my parents waking me up like that so I’d set an alarm for 4am and just be up before them

You’re gonna get mad at whatever wakes you up might as well be a machine. Sadly I’d ignore the alarm and my mom would end up having to say get up now so I’d rage at both

'Happy wife; happy life' is the most bullsh*t saying I've ever heard. Why the f would my happiness depend on the happiness of someone else? Her happiness is the priority of the house? Ok, 'Queen'..

@ keeping your wife happy does not mean you have to put yourself second, or do anything at the expense of your own happiness. My wife is my life partner. Our happiness is intertwined 🤷♂️
