“Oh, ya know, everything looks so good on the salad bar.” “Oh, heavens yes. Everything looks so fresh and delightful.” “I’m just gonna have a small salad, maybe some soup, and then treat myself to some fro yo.” Real talk, I hate that I forgot about this short. With all of the onscreen labor exploitation and environmental damage - plus being tied to one of the best Season 5 episodes - it disappoints me that this short faded from my memory. Probably because I was a lot younger when last I saw it, and the fact that it’s not as violent as, say, _Catching Trouble_ (which was also clearly staged) didn’t convey as much blatant horror to my stupid mind. Still, after giving it some thought, I can say that _Catching Trouble_ is definitely the worst short they ever took on. The host segment that followed it was nothing but pure catharsis.

Encyclopedia Britannica Films may not have been sold door to door, but they have been known for making some rather depressing "educational" films. For example, there was an adaptation of Shirley Jackson's short story *The Lottery* made in the 1970s, and it's not for the easily offended.
@ripvanwinkle20022 жыл бұрын
so in 2022 that means what? 5 people have seen it? LOL

Why does the film title card say "second edition" but MST3K title and comments site "special edition"? Is that a filming mistake or did the film get edited after the commentary was filmed?

being exploited on the southern border is punishment for crossing illegally.. seems fair. i mean if a guy breaks into your house and you catch him, i say fuck it make him repaint your deck at gunpoint while you wait for the cops to arrive.. criminals will think twice if they have to do labor when they get caught.. just sayin..
@Artersa Жыл бұрын
People don’t become slave laborers if they are caught crossing illegally. Not only is that an awful way to idealize what happens with people crossing illegally, it’s simply wrong. For an example of southern border abuse, the entire agricultural system in the US is predicated on labor, and most of that labor is made up of people who are not citizens but have work visas. They are often treated badly and the language barrier makes that difficult to counter. Yet the food you eat would be gone in less than a week if we suddenly got rid of these folks. Show some respect, learn a little bit, understand that most “illegals” or undocumented workers are actually people in dire circumstances trying to support a family.

@@Artersa yea thats the problem THEY SHOULD be... round em make em build roads and do hard labor THEN send em home i can PROMISE a sharp decrease in illegal crossing after that its only right they pay off the expense they generate with their crimes by hard labor..
