📝Basic information:
Location: Poland
Date of recording: September 2022
About my work - I remove beaver dams when I receive an order from a state organization.
I do not choose which dam to remove. It is decided by officials at the request of nearby residents. Each dam is assessed in advance if it can and if should be dismantled.
Removing the dam is not a threat to beavers. I do not remove their houses - lodges.
Dams are removed only in places where beavers cause damage, for example by flooding nearby fields, flooding the basements of nearby houses, or when the stream on which beavers built their dam is degraded.
Even though beavers are very invasive animals, they are under strict protection in our country.
I personally like all animals, so beavers are fine too.

That was an easy one. It was interesting about the beaver canal, I thought it was a spring.

Everything becomes easier with an excavator 😉🙂 And this flowing water was just the equalization of water levels 🙂 And it looked so interesting, because the water escaped through the channel dug by the beavers. In one of my previous episodes, there was a situation where they dug into a nearby pond. And when I removed the dam, just like here, the water began to flow out, and the pond was almost all dry.

Finally someone knows how to pull a beaver dam apart without making a total mess of the stream. This video should be a sticky for operators. Most guys keep hacking away at the back of the dam and then pull the top off. By then its all washed downstream. Bad for fish . Good job.

Hi Dan. You asked a very good question and the answer is - nothing is stopping them. However, this is not the end of the answer 😉 Because, despite the fact that they will certainly rebuild the dam in some time, if the beaver beavers are not removed there for a long time, a massacre will take place at the place of flooding - including dug channels deep into the banks, and the flushed banks of the stream, not to mention the flooding of the nearby area. So despite the fact that the dam will be rebuilt, every now and then it just needs to be tidied up in advance, before they will do more serious damage.

And so I am already recording for three cameras, but I do not know when all these recordings will be released to the public - maybe in winter, when I have more free time 🙂🙂 I have one camera on a tripod, another on an excavator and a third on my chest.
