Issue also becomes when you want to side out dead hand traps against other decks, but you have to keep them in suddenly just because you know they’re siding that hand trap against you. Like before, it used to be easy to side deck against backrow decks because I could side out nibiru, but now I have to keep it in because I know my opponent has it for me.

That was a really important note about the OCG meta. Crossout is outstanding in OCG-land because there's so many three-of ubiquitous staples in their meta. It's pretty much never a bad draw.

I tried the card in Salamangreat. I only wanted it for Nib and Ash, so I didn’t play any other rando handtraps cause they do not bother me. Here is what I learned: 1) Game 1 people seldom play Nibiru (don’t use Crossout as a specific out if it is not heavily played) so I moved it to the side. 2) If you don’t use Crossout on your turn it is basicly a dead card unless you play mirror or hit a pot card. 3) Crossout is terrible going second and I would rather have going second cards 4) Drawing 2 Crossout really feels bad. 5) Drawing it in the mirror match is absolutely busted and will most likely win you the game.

100% agreed!! People saying "it's mandatory to main in salad" have clearly never playtested it. But is a good sidedeck option for sure tho.
@TheoJay6153 жыл бұрын
This. After play testing it in salad, it's a game 2/3 card. After reading this, I'll probably throw it in the side deck. I was consistently powering through hand traps with cards like Parallel Exceed and extra salads in hand for discard fodder (except for the off chance that someone plays Nib in game 1). You can play through 2 interruptions (3 if you draw good) but if they don't have Nib and you draw the Crossout, it's basically a dead card. I'd rather have an extra extender than a silver bullet for one use case.
@VegettoBlack3 жыл бұрын
In my experience so far i think its mandatory to side at least 2 if you are playing one of the 3 to 5 most popular meta decks because you will absolutely find it useful game 2 or 3 in the mirror match. Dragon link has been my main since thunder dragons lost their best boy #FreeColossus ... and i thought it would be great in the main deck but d link has run fine without it but i do have 2 in the side to use for the mirror or when i see fit. Also noe that i said it doesnt seem neccessary mained in d link some pro will come out with d link needing cross out to be best again lol
@averagejoe92293 жыл бұрын
I also tried it in Salad and would rather have any other good staple like a torrential tribute that has a high impact on the board-state regardless of the situation. Side decking also uses 3 otherwise good options like floodgates (gozen/rivalry) which Salad can play in and are good against Nibiru.

@Daniel Well, yes. Since the declared card (Gamma) was not in his deck the first time, it was an illegal activation and the Crossout went back to his hand, not considered to have been activated at all. He was then Gamma'd. Further into his combo, he activated it again, declaring "Nibiru", which, again, he had sided out. The Crossout went back to his hand again, and he got Nibiru'd.

Honestly the biggest problem for me with cross out is that here in the Tcg the hand trap pool is extremely diverse, so there is almost no way to constantly counter everything unless you want to sacrifice your deck consistency. Meaning there are a lot of games where cross out will feel like a dead card. Imo it works better as a side deck card, since at that point your oponente is most likely to side into the cards that kill your deck .

Yeah also if your deck doesn't have at the very least 15 free spots, I simply can't see how you can fit enough crossout targets to make it good. (On the other hand if your deck has less than 15 free spots, you probably don't need crossout because your engine is so big)
@redx43613 жыл бұрын
I think there was a general misconception about why crossout is good. When called by went to 1, most people didn’t even understand why. Called by was also being regulated to the side in some decks so that you were drawing your combo pieces more likely. This being said, of course you can’t just slap it into everything. If crossout gets hit here in the TCG, it’ll be for the same reason as called by. Not because it’s necessarily broken, but because you could go first and combo regardless to what your opponent has.

If you want a cheaper alternative to Crossout Designator I recommend Prohibition! I like it more because It is a proactive card rather than a reactive card. Prohibition also hits every card in the game aside from itself as long as you know the card's names you want to hit. Plus you can bait out negates and S/T removal with it. It's also a heck of a lot cheaper and it's been doing my going second Hero deck a lot of good. Doesn't mean it's for everybody or every deck but neither is Crossout.
@LauncherSpiderMk73 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's a genuinely great card, it's just tricky to use, especially going first. It's great for calling high-impact cards that you know will kill you, like Nibiru, Lancea, and Droll & Lock Bird. Calling Forbidden Droplet after making a powerful board is really nasty, too.

The main reason why people think this is a bad card is because we are in a too diverse format where handtraps are not useful against all decks; once the next banlist hits all the 1.5 decks and the new meta approaches you either play the crossout to fight the top hand traps and the new meta decks, or you die If we were like OCG where everyone is forced to play 3 Maxx C and 3 Ash, we'll use it as well Give it a couple months and you'll see
@Altigue3 жыл бұрын
Cross out designator should fit into your deck like a hand fits into a glove. Every designator target in your deck should be useful as a standalone card as well and only really throw in the “brick” targets in games 2/3, if at all. If you are using designator for a defensive card… figure out which cards you can play in your deck that are good staples you can predict your opponent playing as well that you can still play even if you open it and don’t see designator (ash, Imperm for example). I run CD in one of my decks and have ash and Imperm as the main targets with supplemental targets being CC and Prosp. All these cards are very useful on their own but Crossout designator makes them that much better because even if I don’t see (for example Imperm) I still have designator to negate it and protect my starter play and I also have trap trick for it…

If Crossout Designator lowers the sales of the tins, that means other cards may be harder to obtain, so they may remain high; Usually the surplus of cards from buying tin after tin to get the Crossout Designator in this case, lowers their value, so the more product bought, the less the extra cards will be. Crossout is best with sets of 2 hand traps, so people could use it to counter Ash and Droll or Ash and Nibiru, etc in which case even using 1 copy of Crossout I would recommend 2 copies of chosen hand traps because you aren't even allowed to banish the Hand Trap in your hand, which I bet a lot of people overlooked. You could also run 1 or 2 of each less impactful/common hand trap/cracker too: Impermanence, Veiler, DRNM, Droplets, Belle, Crow, but if you only run 1 copy of that HT there's a strong chance the copy you need in the deck to stop the opponent won't be there, making all of your efforts in vain. And running all of these Hand Traps, but only 1 Crossout Designator seems like a joke. If you find Crossout Designator bricks from drawing 2 many copies because it is a Hard Once Per Turn (another downside people clearly overlooked), you should run 2 copies; at 1 copy you'll never see it enough unless it is searchable, and at 3 copies you have a decent chance at bricking 2 in hand, but only running 2 copies will almost never brick but also double the chances of seeing a single copy compared to running a single copy.
@Goblin_Hands3 жыл бұрын

Pro players win all the time by stacking their deck and not actually randomizing their shuffling as you've made plenty videos covering this. Every pro player legit sits at home and practices how to stack their deck that's why when you get matched up with a pro player you have to do your part in making sure their decks get randomized while they focus on bricking your deck when they cut it. That's really the only trick there is to it.. with an online simulator like Master Duel it will completely cut out this issue and most "pro players" will actually be proven to be subpar when they cant stack and brick their opponents decks anymore. But of course not everyone is like that but we can all agree that the majority of pro players actually know how to do that which is why most arent fans of master duel and talk shit about it.
