Sometimes the truths are lost amidst overpraising an individual that you are fond of and T.K.Ramamoorthy is unfortunately lost in all this. The song" Aadatha Manamun Undo" (and also "Muhaththil Muham Parkalam") Mr.Mani refers to here , even according to M.S.Viswanathan himself in an interview, was composed by T.K.Ramamoorthy.It is not Viswanathan, but Ramamoorthy who was known as a orthodox carnatic musician and somewhat a genius at that.The best music of Viswanathan was during the time he partnerd Ramamoorthy, the real melody at its best.Like Mr.Mani points out, Many songs of Viswanathan had the base tunes of some other catchy tunes already known.Probably this is why he did not get the "Padmashri" award despite his phenomenal success.

Mr Chandrakumar, please get your facts right before commenting. MSV produced hundreds of soulful melodies even after parting with TKR. His music deserves to be cherished in our hearts and enjoyed forever. Mere Padma awards are like holding a lamp to the sun. Why bother?

Chandra Kumar I know about that interview you are referring to MSV saying about ‘aadatha manamum’. When the anchor was asking how did he come with that raga for which Msv said ‘don’t forget Ramamurthy Anna was also with me’. The idea is during 50s when most of film music including Msv-TKr had Carnatic raga based songs. Many times TKR used to play a Carnatic raga and from the Msv imagined and created tunes. But ever since during 60d when Msv changed the entire film music to a different level which we call light music there was no template. It was MSVs ides which became a grammar. And don’t link Padma awards. Nagesh did not get Padma awards. But Vivek got it. Find out the reason.

Even in the 50s, the duo made a name for themselves for light music in the footsteps of T.R.Papa.M.S.Viswanathan was always dependent on numerous assistants like the competent G.K.Venkatesh, S.Govarthanam, Sankar Ganesh , Henry Daniel, Joseph Krishna, etc.

@@Gendernill Well said, Sir! In my opinion, MSV grew to his creative best after his split with TKR and his tunes and orchestration acquired a sheen that to this day remain fresh and new. But some have created the myth that MSV had nothing to offer after his split with TKR, Hindi film songs took over and finally it was left to Ilayaraja to redeem Tamizh film music.
