True. But Mary and Sarah did have some good ideas. Like Mary suggesting a Calming Circle. Or Sarah remembering Dead Man's Toes. Also, in the scene here it's true. Winifred let here pride get the best of her, as she does throughout the entire movie. They should/could have given the potion to Ice or Jay or one of the hypnotized children. After draining their lifeforce they would have ensured that they don't turn to dust at sunup. That also would have given them time to brew more potion and suck the lifeforce out of everyone else. Then they could have launched a surprise attack on the group in the cemetery after dawn when the group believed that the witches had turned to dust.

Even though Dani just got to Salem, she picked up the town’s history very quickly. Dani knows all about the Sanderson sisters, what they’ve done, and what they used on children. That is why Dani was able to fight off from drinking the potion, at least, long enough for her brother Max and Allison to show up and save her and Thackery Binx as well.
