Gems can be just as fun. I think for me it's the thrill of the hunt. You never know what you might find

If I was there, I would have dug that hole deeper. Tried to see if there's anything different down there

This was a exploratory trip for me as I had never been. I’ll definitely go back and dig some more

The park requests that you don't dig more than 2' from the surface. It is a really neat place.

Been in the tailings piles. 11:23, , who can tell me what it is. It is a soft mineral, light brown, somewhat striated/verigated that takes a nice polish. It has a bit of chatoyancy, not a lot but it flashes a bit at odd angles. Please, what is that mineral. Hand shaped and polished it looks nice. Thank you.

Im actually not sure what it is. Maybe somebody on the dig maine gems page on fb might know.

I’m in southern Maine. Just starting to rock hound. Any advice?
@goldenoutdoorsАй бұрын
@LaunchBawx Not really. Do some research online for place here in Maine to dig. There are quite a few good places and in NH as well. Depends what your looking for. For me its the thrill of finding something good, treasure hunting. We go to NY for herkimer diamonds every year. When you dig and dig and dig then finally find one its so exciting. Thats what I love about all these kind of hobbies. Good luck 🍀
