I grew up in the temporary morning shadow of Mt. Cheam. I hiked it 7 times, once in winter with a broken finger. The 1st time a teenager when the only approach was from Popkin Road at the bottom. Today it is overgrown and the scramble to the final summit ridge is eroded, and only experienced scramblers should attempt. The backside is somewhat reached by logging road, with a possible hike in to the trail, as this video describes. An easy and beautiful hike on a sunny day.
