This was so sick! This video is my first exposure to seeing someone climb up a mountain and then ski their way back down. What an insane sport! That had to be a ton of fun!!

So much fun, and very rewarding, too. This was a three day trip, so it included the whole snow camping experience.

Awesome! I could never do this, but you can, and that's awesome! Very beautiful scenery too!

Beautiful ascent - really great couloir there ! Some nasty ice near the crux point - nicely passed, and the exit part pretty sick.. Crossing Goethe lake also quite enjoyable when frozen :) In the summer there is some seriously annoying talus around it to deal with ..

Thanks for the compliment. Talus is one reason I'd rather travel on skis. I'll put up my descent of Thunderbolt Peak soon. That talus is horrendous dry.

that was awesome! looked pretty steep at portions as well. was it very technical or needing crampons?

Technical enough to be fun without being scary, but not for too long. I would have liked a longer ice section. I used crampons for the whole face, but only really needed them in the throat.

@@midi510 awesome! How do you like the slingfin splitwing?

@@juskojj It's great for a minimalist approach. If skiing, you have to take your poles during the day, but not big deal. I read someone writing with concern about the way the three zippers come together letting bugs in, but they seal up really well. The one thing I'd like to see is a bit of a tub lip in front as it's easy to knock dirt or snow into the tent. I don't usually use the vestibule, either. I have the Crossbow 2 winter version for a palace for one in full winter conditions. It's really good for 2 people also, and you can split the load. I want to get a Portal, so I can have exactly the tent for the job. I have nearly 20 packs.
