Yes that's all dance battle events. A DJ of the genre fitting to their event is hired to play their mixes and beats. The dancers compete every time to unknown unscripted music. Lots of dancers who compete are very experienced with most mixes and music though, and it is competitive advantage to know and practice for hours to thousands of different songs on the off chance that it does get played at the event. Then you know the jist of the beat and flow of the song to get more points in musicality trait. But many years of battling and you often hear the same songs or remixes or the newest hot beat that just dropped in many different events.

And ill add, with years of experience, you can hear a song for the very first time and really know it's structure and ques after the first few seconds of hearing it. Then intuition takes it's ride and you move along with the song in sync.

The dance song is built by many layers. Normal players usually focus on only the easy layers so it looks really matched, while pro dancers like mt pop will catch beats at every layers, so it will looks unmatched if you focus on the wrong layers which he does not dance on.

Man that dude was ready for the Indian music, he had all the traditional dances and the Bollywood stuff. I was actually shocked she didn’t come back and try to top him, guess she just didn’t have the reference. That dude very clearly understood traditional Hindu and Bollywood styles and that song choice completely blew up the competition. Her only chance was to beat him at that game and she just opted for regular popping. So amazing how much musicality is such a big thing in Street Dancing, in the nineties nobody was hitting the beats and drops like that. That stuff became popular with korea in the late 2000s because the scene there was really regimented so the kids would across crews were all practicing to the same songs and became so familiar with them that they started actually timing floorrock and poses. Some won’t believe me but go back and watch battle of the year or freestyle sessions around 2002 and you will not see them hitting the beat like that. It really is honestly something Korea face to breaking and now if you can’t hit steps perfectly on beat people will call you out. It’s hard enough to do flares or six steps but to do them and keep the beat is an entire level of insanity, it used to be toprock for musicality and down rock was just pure feeling. I am very proud to have been part of an art form which envolved throughout my lifetime, very few artists get to see there art change year after year for the positive. But all of hip hop dance is still evolving. These aren’t the best poppers ever but that dude nailed integrating Indian dance into it. The more the artofrm expands the more it becomes something magical. You can’t say the same far a lot of art out there that has peaked and fallen off. Breaking is still expanding.

I see, that was sick because it was still in rhythm, but matched the briefly low energy of the song at that instant. And it also looked like he knew it was coming just from hearing the structure of the song before that

He built the climax, like in a story. Before the explosion, he used steady hands and footwork (many dancers would rush by doing some big moves and break everything), before dropping on the ground. Then he cutely touched his face before breaking his head to make the vibration. This crazy transition / contrast and the fact that his moves fit the music perfectly made the awe. That's my guess.
