Here we have a compilation video of the 1997-1998 Nova Bus RTS T80-206 Bus Units from the MTA New York City Bus agency. The video focuses on the units running along local bus routes and subway shuttle services in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island in between the years 2013 and 2016. I hope you enjoyed this video.
The 1997-1998 Nova Bus RTS Unit set are numbered 9350-9699. The buses are equipped with a Detroit Diesel Series 50 DDEC Engine with an Allison VR-731 ATEC Transmission. A good chunk of the buses were retired in between 2015 to 2017 due to the faulty wheelchair lifts that caused problems to the units. The arrival of New Flyer XD40 Units in 2015, the arrival of Nova Bus LFS units in 2015-2016, and some other buses being transferred to other depots in 2016 eased the retirement process of these Nova Buses.
As of this video's published date, there are currently 4 of the 343 units active in the system, with units 9457, 9511, 9667, and 9674 being active at the Grand Avenue Bus Depot in Brooklyn. Note that only one of these mentioned units is shown in the video.
The bus depots represented in the video are the Flatbush, Fresh Pond, Grand Avenue, Michael J. Quill, Queens Village, and Ulmer Park, with loaned units for the Manhattanville and Yukon Depots.
Note from 2021: All of these units were retired as of March 2018. Unit 9546 has been kept as a mechanics bus for MTA Bus Company.
An updated NYC Bus roster just for fun, and its always updated:
