The R110A subway cars were one of two prototype trains the MTA purchased in the early 90s to test out new technology and design before purchasing today's A and B Division rail fleet such as the R142s, R160s, .etc.
These cars unfortunately haven't ran the past two decades due to issues with their brakes in their later years of service. Now they're being reused and converted to pump cars. Pump cars are used to pump out flood water in deep subway tunnels during extreme weather events.
These clips were taken January 7th 2022.
Stay tuned for more!
