I do have a lot of experience taking the train at Astoria Blvd because it's on my homelines, the N & W. I do notice that during the rush hour & the weekdays, it can get really crowded. It also has a connnection to the M60 SBS. So I would say it could be kind of important for that station.

The gates that they showed at Grand Central will take a while to place in all the stations. Those people have leaped over and ducked under the current turnstiles to avoid paying the fare. The new gates that were seen at Grand Central are too high to jump over and too low to duck under. They also detect if there are two or more people entering at once and the non payer gets notified to Law Enforcement, and when leaving the system they would automatically open for you as well.
