I run Ergon GE1 and DMR death grips. I have small hands, so grip choice can be difficult. The death grips are my favourites, although it's worth noting how bad they are without gloves. As soon as they get any moisture on them (sweat or rain) they become very slippy indeed.

Agreed with others. GE1’s are more popular than whatever Ergon grips they talked about. I’ve never seen those Ergon GA3’s on a MTB bike. GE1’s are the bomb for any type of MTB’ing. I’ve used ODI Rouges, ESI Chunky’s... and absolutely fell in love with the GE1’s.

Phillip Lewicki totally agree. I tried them without gloves on my last day and I definitely prefer them with thin gloves such as the Yeti Enduro gloves. Still, these grips are so well designed they’ve alleviated my hand fatigue issues while ripping through the chunk.

Ergon GA3, ODI Troy Lee, ODI Elite Pro. Currently on the GA3 and think they are really nice. I ride heavy on my palms and my hands tend to get fatigued/sore, the GA3 didn't eliminated this but I would say definitely improved. I can ride longer with less discomfort. I really like my ODI Troy Lee lock-ons they are tacky and pretty thin which works well because I have a smaller hand. I think I'll try those Renthal grips from the vid, sound like my kind of grip. Thanks again for another great vid!

Jetblack pin locking grips in black with red rings, ($22AUD), plus BBB Mountain High aluminium pedals ($39AUD) on my new mongoose switchback. Im getting back into riding (im fat n old) but to hell with the standard pedals and grips. Got to be a tiny bit customised yo. I used to put foam grips on my motorcycles auutomatically (almost a signature) from race replica superbikes to my current cruiser mounts. Gave it up when my hands started aching. The shape was wrong for my hands. The standard yamaha grips on my current bike are superb. No more hand ache. Loved the foam but avoiding them now. Oh yeah...given i only got the bike yesterday ive done two laps of the driveway (!!!😂😂😂😂👍🏻🇦🇺😂😂😂😂). Result- didnt fall off (excellent - havent ridden since i killed my FXT TRAIL in errrr 2008?) and both grips and pedals felt nice under exxxxxtreeeeeeeme #pressurefreeeasyconditions.

Grabbin some Sensus Lites right now. I like the mushroom pattern, thin profile, single clamp and the hard plastic end piece. I'm curious to try the Deathgrips or Deity Knuckledusters next, but the lack of a hard endcap makes me nervous. Loved the feel of ODI Elites but the rubber flange rips very easily when you crash. So many good choices out there, maybe I need more bikes so I can try more grips?

Some times you need to suck it up and just drop the $90 for RevGrips. I’ve had Santa Cruz Palmdale, ODI SDG Han Solo, and foam grips. Not many companies make larger diameter grips. All grips work and for the most part if you just ride local trail it wouldn’t matter. But if you are a park bike rider, you need to try RevGrip. Only grip that reduces arm pump, knuckle pain, and dampens vibration load. If anyone is having knuckle pain aka the death grip and joints feel sore to open up your hands, it means to need a bigger diameter grip. There’s is an article on Kyle Strait on pinkbike explaining this. What he does is double layer his sensus grips.

As an owner of Revgrips, they are pretty gimmicky. Not much difference if any in comfort, and they are a pain in the ass when they loosen up over time and you have to redo the clamps.

Ran Ergon GE1’s and loved them until they wore out after 4 years (very durable). Went with ODI Elite Pro’s to try something different and really like the subtle squish supporting my palms.

Ergon GD1s for me. I really wanted to dig the Deathgrips but I didn’t get on with them at all - they always left my hands feeling beat up. And on the XC bike, ESI Chunkys (very similar to the Fat Paws).
